Blackkit's Apprentice Ceremony

With a little more practiced smoothness than before, Birdchaser leapt onto the Tallbranch. After she'd had a chance to practice a few times, standing before the Clan had gotten considerably easier. Paws working against the wood, the deputy let her gaze drift across camp for a moment before focusing on the nursery. She was looking forward to the kit she was apprenticing today. Clearing her throat, Birdchaser called out, "All cats old enough to climb a tree, gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!"

Blackkit scampered out of the nursery, convinced that this was her ceremony. If not hers then it was Dapplekit's, which Blackkit would take as a personal insult. So, naturally, this had to be her ceremony. She haphazardly flattened the fur on her head, which had started growing into an alarmingly white crest of sorts, and approached the Tallbranch.

Soon enough, the little white kit appeared from her den, darting forth to settle in their meeting spot while making some last minute adjustments to her fur. With an amused glint to her eyes, the deputy nodded down at her. "Blackkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and so it's time for you to become an apprentice. From now until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Blackpaw. I will be your mentor." Her gaze scanned the crowd for a moment before she jumped down, rejoining her Clanmates before padding forth, touching her nose gently to her new apprentice's. "I'm sure I know something I can pass on to you. Training starts tomorrow at dawn, but for now, meet the other apprentices and settle in."
