foxpaw's warrior ceremony

Today would be the first warrior ceremony the tom would conduct as Minnowstar. Strolling around camp, he had checked in with his deputy and her mentor before deciding that this apprentice was ready. All that was left would be to officially let her know. Climbing up onto Highrock's towering form, his paws no longer flinched at the cold touch of stone. "Let all cats of Thunderclan gather below Highrock for a clan meeting." he called. Settling onto his haunches, he glanced up at the sky. Recently it had rained almost every night and from the darkening colors of the evening sky, he could tell it would be raining yet again tonight. Sets a gloomy mood, but plants need it. he supposed.

Mottlerose heard her mate's call, lifting her head and trotting over. It was indeed time for another apprentice to become a warrior, and she was quite excited to witness it. Even moreso, watching the young lives continue to grow within their Clan only reminded the deputy of the joy to soon come her way.

Recently returned from a border patrol, Foxpaw flicked a curious ear to Minnowstar. Perhaps another kit would become an apprentice? The apprentice den were losing members each moon, whether it was from advancing to warriorhood, or.. from simply losing members to StarClan. The ginger tabby quickly shook her head of the thought. The evenings were dark enough- why add more herself in her musing? Taking a few strides closer to the Highrock, Foxpaw turned her full attention to the grey-and-white leader.

"Foxpaw, step forward." he commanded, once noting the ginger apprentice's presence. The tom's gaze was filled with stoic pride and questioned her commitment to her duties as a soon-to-be warrior. "You have trained hard in the ways of our clan and done your best to earn your place in this clan. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and serve your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

She hadn't expected her name to be called out; let alone asked to step closer to the Highrock. Her warrior ceremony. Foxpaw realized after a heartbeat. A strike of nervousness lined her paws as she strode closer to the familiar tall stone. There was still so much she had to learn from Comfreyheart- and the apprentice den had gained a warm familiarity; yet at the same time.. Foxpaw knew she was ready. The ginger apprentice took a breath, gazing up to Minnowstar. With resolve, she spoke the last words she would state as an apprentice. "I do."

Minnowstar allowed a little smile to crease his maw, raising his voice to complete the ceremony. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From now on, you will be known as Foxglare. StarClan honors your loyalty and perseverance. We welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan. Tonight, you will sit vigil as the clan sleeps. " With a bounding leap, he jumped down from Highrock to congratulate the warrior. "Congratulations Foxglare. I look forward to seeing you thrive as a full warrior of Thunderclan." He mewed, giving her an approving nod.
