It was an oddly cool night for Shadowclan when the first drops of water started to wet the ferns and cat fur alike. It did not take long for the roar and thrum of thunder and wind to onslaught the cats of Shadowclan, their marshes turning too muddy to even walk.

Mistyfalcon shivered at the touch of cold rain soaking into his thinning pelt, dark eyes narrowing in displeasure. The night was colder than normal for the season, and his tattered ears slicked back. It had been some time since there had been a storm like this, though he couldn't seem to remember one quite this bad, either.
---
Harechaser let out a hiss of frustration as she trudged back into camp. There would be no hunting in this weather, and it was with reluctance that her patrol had cut the night short. She'd never experienced rain like this before and shuddered, long, normally poofy fur plastered to her sides, making her look somewhat like a drowned rat.
Peaceful, dreamless sleep was interrupted by the onslaught of wind and water; Thalia's long fur, steadily growing wetter, bristled at the chill. It was odd weather for the season, but more than that- something about it felt dangerous. Leopardsun rolled over when the water reached her, only blinking her tired eyes open when that only seemed to make things worse. She had never seen weather like this, the concept of a dangerous flood something reserved for elders' tales.
Roseburn let out a hiss of frustration, huddling under what ever shelter she could. Her fur stuck to her sides, and she felt absolutely miserable. How dare it rain like this? Roseburn never cared about her looks before, but she probably looked pathetic just then.
❒ Forestbreeze had truly never minded the rain but he could admit that this was a bit much. The thunder rattled his bones and the lightning made it hard to get a real night's rest. The way his fur sick to itself didn't help either. He looked like a miserable sight. With a quick glance at the others, he could tell that they weren't fairing any better. With a sigh, the young warrior sat up in his nest then he walked over to the den's opening. He had noticed how far the water had reached into the den with a frown but filed that for later. He carefully poked his head out the den to get a better view but wasn't prepared for how hard the rain was falling.
❒ Instant regret filled him as the fur atop his head was immediately dragged down but the heavy water. His vision blurred and he felt the chilly water enter his ears for a moment. With a gasp, he quickly pulled his head back inside in a panic. He carefully tried to brush away the water that was making his vision distorted with his paws but with them being just as wet themselves, it didn't do much to help. He resorted to shaking his head in hopes that he'd be able to see and hear clearly again. Well then, hopefully, this wasn't going to continue well into the morning.
❒ He finally managed to regain his sight as well as drain the water from his ears. A deep frown was framing his face as he looked down at the water that was ever so slowly flowing within the camp. A flash of worry made him take a step back. This wasn't going to be a flood, was it? He'd heard about them but with never having experienced one—thankfully—he didn't really know what to expect. He prayed to the stars above that this wasn't that.

Swiftheart was amazed at how hard the rain fell from the sky it pounded the camp drenching everything. There were no dry places left even the dens were soggy and damp from the amount of rising water now flooding everywhere. All around her she saw her clanmates trying to get out.
She desperately tried to find her kits and called out for them.

Honeypaw had been having a very nice, very peaceful dream, when the sensation of rain disturbed that comfortable slumber. Wet paws drew the tom from his dreams, making him blink awake. One too many of his nightmares started with the sensation of mud and water sucking him down, so to feel it in his own nest quickly had a rush of panic filling his chest and he scrambled to a sitting position.
It took several panic-and-sleep-addled moments for Honeypaw to realize that this was no nightmare, and instead a very wet reality. Water had begun to leak through the roof of the apprentices' den and soak through the entrance, disturbing the comfortable nests of the apprentices. Honeypaw’s heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest. He tried to tell himself it was just some rain, but it didn’t feel normal. It felt too intense, too heavy. After glancing around to make sure the rest of his denmates were awake, that no one was sleeping through this, he scrambled up and out of the den.
Immediately the heavy rain soaked Honeypaw’s thick fur, making him look pretty pathetic and getting his long fur in his eyes, obscuring his vision. He shook himself out to no avail, the water that he chased from his fur only being replaced immediately. He squinted as he tried to navigate through the muddy, soaked ground, panic only increasing. Was this a flood? He’s heard about those from the elder’s tales, and the idea of them had chased his anxieties into the night. Maybe this really was a nightmare. If so, he really wanted to wake up. Now.
