Fogkit's Medicine Cat Apprentice Ceremony

Fogkit was the second. Hopefully everything would go well with his kit. He knew that there was a lot to take in over the last moon, a lot to process, somethings he had a hard time processing himself, but things had to continue on. At least Beechfang was still alive, and Skyclan would recover. The next step was getting Medicine Cats set up. Fogkit was meant to train along his sibling. This time he went to find his other kit.

"Fogkit, come with me. It's time to go to the Moonstone." Dovefrost said.

Dovefrost wasn't sure what he was expecting when his kit opened his mouth, but he certainly wasn't expecting those words. Using his warrior name was okay, he didn't mind it, but the impatience was something else. He just rolled it off his shoulders knowing Fogkit had a hard time with everything.. Maybe one day it would be better..

The large tom pushed a pile of herbs towards his son, "Eat these and then we can go." Like before when he was in Thunderclan he had already eaten his travel herbs before he even approached the kit. Once Fogkit consumed the herbs, he lead the younger out of the camp.

It didn't take long to reach the Moonstone, the path familiar just like always, having just traveled it a bit before with Plumpaw brought a fresh feeling to mind. The warning to stick close in mother mouth came just as easy as it did before. Flashes of leading Thunderclan to the moonstone flashing in his mind. He felt like a medicine cat again.. The path he always loved. Sure he could be a warrior, but this was the path he always desired in the end. Even if his time as a medicine cat was over, he would still help where he could.

As he approached the stone, it was just as cold as the night before. He didn't expect a change in it, just and observation. He just hoped Fogkit didn't feel the coldness. He hoped that nothing but warmth welcomed his son. "Fogkit, is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat apprentice?" The words were easy. His part was done. It was up to Fogkit and Starclan now.

There was no delay. Fogkit's answer came smoothly, and in a timely manner as Dovefrost was expecting. Not even taking a moment to take in the stone. The large warrior expected it. With the path Fogkit was now following, there were going to be many more opportunities to see the stone in the future. Soon it would be his son or his daughter guiding others to the Moonstone.

"Then from this moment on, until you earn your full Medicine cat name, you will be known as Fogpaw." Green eyes turned to the stone, a small part of him hoping for a sign, maybe something to take away its coldness but nothing came in the small moment of silence before he continued the ceremony. "Starclan, I present you this apprentice. He has chosen the way of the medicine cat. Guide him well and teach him all of your wisdom so that he may serve his clan for moons to come."

Dovefrost turned away from the stone, Green eyes falling on his son once again. "Press your nose to the stone, and Starclan will meet you in your dreams. The ceremony will be finished from there."

The glimmering expanse of StarClan mirrored the glimmer of Adderflare's own starry pelt. She watched with narrowed eyes as an apprentice materialized a few foxlengths away from her. She sized him up for a moment, realizing with distaste that he looked remarkably like her exiled niece. They were kin, her and this apprentice. And it seemed he was following in Beechfang's bloodstained pawsteps. She sighed to herself and emerged from the tall grass she'd been crouching in, tail swishing with annoyance and her most deadpan stare on her face. Family he may be, but he'd be receiving no coddling from her. "Open your eyes, Fogpaw. You're in StarClan, my name is Adderflare. I was a SkyClan warrior. Your recently... departed leader was my brother." She spat out the last word. She'd never been entirely fond of Bloodstar and her dislike for him had only grown since she'd died.

"You're here because you're to become a medicine cat apprentice. You will not serve your Clan with your claws and teeth. Instead you choose to serve them with your herbs and knowledge. You will not save everyone. Cats will die in your care. I assume you are ready for this." She looked him up and down. It was impossible to tell how he'd fare as a medicine cat. His mother had caused much chaos in the position, and now her son was to fill it... If Adderflare cared she may have mentioned it, but she really didn't. It was Fogpaw's choice, a choice he'd already made and that Adderflare didn't have to deal with. "StarClan accepts you as a medicine cat apprentice of SkyClan. Let's hope you do better than your mother." The last remark was pointed, though still bearing her signature monotony.
