Frostkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Leaping onto the Tallbranch, Briarthorn looked around camp. She knew it had been six moons since Frostkit’s birth, and the little she-cat was quickly outgrowing the nursery. There was no reason to delay her ceremony, especially when SkyClan was in need of warriors, now more than ever. So, she called our across camp, ”All cats old enough to climb a tree, gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!”

Frostkit walked with pride as she approached the Tallbranch. Hopefully it would be her turn.

There was nothing she wanted more in the world than being a warrior. They could have her put mouse bile on elders for twenty moons, she would do it. Fight a pack of dogs. Whatever it took. The silver tabby looked to the deputy, her eyes intense and even.

Once the little she-cat approached, Briarthorn surveyed those around her. She had the perfect warrior in mind for this soon-to-be apprentice. ”Frostkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From this day onward until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known to all as Frostpaw. Dandelionflight will be your mentor. I am confident that she has the ability to train you well.” Leaping from the branch, Briarthorn briefly congratulated the she-cat and then stepped away.

Frostpaw glowed under the Tallbranch. Her, an apprentice. It was her time.

“Thank you,” she meowed, her eyes meeting the deputy. “I won’t let you down.”

With that, she turned to look for her mentor. Dandelionflight? Quite the mouthful. Frostpaw didn’t know her well but if Briarthorn thought she was the right cat for the job, then she would have faith in that.
