Nightkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Yet another of Briarthorn’s kits was ready to train as a warrior, and Briarthorn still couldn’t get over the idea of it. It seemed, to her, absurd that so much time had passed, though it felt like it had only been a moon. But yet, it had been six, and it was time- that much couldn’t be denied. ”All those old enough to climb a tree, gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!” She called out, observing those that began ti gather.

Toothy smile painted onto the tom’s maw, Nightkit pranced out of the nursery for the final time. He was well aware that it had finally been six moons, and he couldn’t be more happy. He’d finally be able to train, and become the best warrior SkyClan could ever imagine! Sitting down in the middle of the clearing, he waited patiently- hoping that it wasn’t something silly, or one of his siblings’ ceremonies.

Once Nightkit was there and plenty of the Clan had gathered, Briarthorn gave her son a nod of encouragement and began. ”Nightkit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onward until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known to all as Nightpaw. Crimsonflame will be your mentor. Though he is young, I trust that he will pass down all his knowledge and skills to you. Congratulations.” Leaping from the branch, she approached the newly-named Nightpaw and licked the fur atop his head smooth, much to the tom’s frustration.
