lilykit's apprentice ceremony

A large part of clan life was an occasional ceremony, be it an apprentice ceremony or a warrior ceremony. Leaping up onto Highrock, the tom addressed the clan. "Let all cats of Thunderclan gather below Highrock for a clan meeting." Placing a little smile on his maw, his gaze searched for the kit in mind.

Lilykit was getting older, and she started to watch each ceremony with more and more interest.

The dainty cream she-cat walked out of the nursery. One of the queens licked her spotless before walking behind her to the meeting. Perhaps there was something going on today? Could this be it?

She looked up, her green eyes meeting the announcer, saying nothing.

Spotting the cream pelt among others, he waited for a few moments more before continuing the ceremony. "Lilykit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Lilypaw and your mentor will be Clouddream." Morningsun would have made an excellent mentor, but I'm sure you will as well. His eyes met the former Riverclanner's eyes and he gave her an approving nod. "I trust that she will teach you all that she knows." With that said, he stepped down and joined the clan in cheering for their newest apprentice.

Lilypaw perked her head up. Clouddream sounded like a nice cat, though she had no idea. She scanned the clearing and girded her nerve. This was the start. One pawstep on the path, many to go. She would learn and fight for ThunderClan. Quiet determination blazed in her eyes.

Mottlerose, who had totally dragged herself to the ceremony this entire time, looked towards the new apprentice. A smile graced her maw. "Lilypaw! Lilypaw! Lilypaw!"
