A Rose Among the Flowers [c]

Maplespring pranced about the camp, an eager look upon her maw. Since being granted an apprentice, there was new life that coursed through her body. Even just the slightest hint of wariness had been whisked away, and it was as if she was the exact same age as the young cat under her tutelage. Her head peeked into the apprentice's den, the golden tabby's tail twitching with her excitement as she spotted the sleeping frame of her apprentice. She'd done her best to remember what the young she-cat looked like at her ceremony. "Rosepaw?" The kind voice called. "Come on out, let's do some training!"

With that, she hopped a few steps from the entrance to the den. There was an eternal youth about Maplespring that she hoped would help her engage with her apprentice, but also that she hoped wouldn't bring any annoyance.

There was no annoyance or tiredness in Rosepaw's eyes when she woke up for her first training session. Rather, they held a mischievous glint as she slowly got up and stretched. She got up and padded over to her mentor, canines glinting in the morning rays as she yawned. "I'm up," she meowed.

She looked a little small next to the tawny she-warrior, who was practically buzzing with energy. Rosepaw noted these two facts internally, almost as if she were calculating how to best get into trouble with her in the future. But no, she wanted to stay on this cat's good side if she wanted to get anywhere in life. Instead, she simply looked around the still-sleeping camp with a small smile on her maw, as if she were amused by something. "So, miss Maplespring," she purred pleasantly, "What training are we doing today?"

Maplespring had a vibrant smile on her face as she saw her apprentice approaching from the den. Miss Maplespring? She thought, her ear flicking at being called such. It was nice, and respectful. Not letting herself ponder over it for too long, she quickly trotted off into the territory, signaling for her apprentice to follow.

"We're going to go to the Flower Fields, it's a rather lovely spot in our territory. There, I'll start you off with the basics of hunting. It's important that every cat know how to hunt. Not only to feed themselves, but to help feed the rest of the Clan who may no longer be able to, like the kits or elders. Sometimes, even a fellow apprentice who might be in the Medicine Den." She rambled off rather joyfully as they quickly made their way across the moors. Not because Maplespring was rushing, by any means, but the normal gait Windclan cats walked at was a faster pace than that of the other Clans.
