Fools! FOOLS! [o]

OOC: to prevent a paradox with the ongoing plot, I'll be setting this thread shortly before the sitewide finale, if that is okay.

A rosy-colored fluffball peeked over the edge of her nursery nest. Rosekit was her name, and she was about to cause chaos.

Why? Well, why not? Her parents were on patrol for the morning and trusted their clanmates with the kitten, so she was basically free to do whatever she wanted. And what other to do than making merry mischief out of her unwitting peers? She could barely contain her snickering at the thought of making someone bigger and more important than her look like a fool.

But first, she had to make a plan. Rosekit squished onto her haunches and pondered. Aha! She could hide in the prey pile, then jump out when someone tries to grab something! She'll then skitter back to her nest before anyone can see, making it look like the pranked cat just freaked out at a dead rabbit. Wouldn't that be silly? Ready to enact her plan (despite the obvious flaws), the fawn-colored kit snuck up to the pile of prey corpses and squeezed her way in as best she could. It stank to high Starclan inside there, and she couldn't fit her tail all the way in, but she kept her mouth shut until someone made the mistake of looking for something to eat. This was going to be so fun!

... Hopefully somebody comes by soon, because she was starting to feel a little crushed.

Batsong sat a ways away from the pile having just gotten back from a patrol

(she was gone when rosekit hid so she had no idea the kit was in there)

she smiled as whisperpaw came closer.

She had been mentor to the old rosepaw and it pained her so much when she went missing never to be seen again. Now windclan had a new rosekit that she hoped to get to know soon but she hadnt yet.


She called out to whisperpaw friendily as per her usual. However she called ritght when whisperpaw was inspecting the tail and perhaps... just perhaps... it was enough to momentarly distract the apprentice... of course, batsong had no idea of this and it was to the luck of rosekit that Batsong had decided to call to her friend just as whisperpaw was inspecting the strange looking tail peekabooing out of the fresh kill pile.


"W-w...whisperpaw, its so g-..good to see you again" she purred with her signature stutter.

(Batsong has had a speech stutter since kithood and it has always bothered her a little bit that she couldnt talk completly normally))

walking towards their good friend she also got really close to the fresh kill pile,

however their attention was on whisperpaw and not at the rosey tail that was clearly giving the kitten away, luckily for the kitten, batsong still had not spotted it yet.

"L..l--..lets g-get ... l-lunch together" she suggested tilting her head...

"if u want t-to" she added on quickly shuffling on her paws a little. The black furred molly always loved spending time with whisperpaw and was even a bit overprotective of the younger cat who she saw as her own kit at times... even though she had never directly told whisperpaw taht.... ever since Whisperpaw lost their mother at a young age it reminded batsong of all the friends and family she had lost as well...


She was totally unexpecting anything to pop out at her as she went towards the pile and picked up a nice big bunny off the pile in her jaws...

"BOO!"

Just when Batsong leaned over the kill pile, a bushy-furred Rosekit leapt out with a yowl. And immediately proceeded to faceplant on the ground. Dear stars above, she stank of raw squirrel. But no matter- she had to finish her prank! Just as soon as she appeared, the little kitten sprinted away with comical speed, coming to hide behind her nest. Her mischievous laughter and the lashing of her tail easily gave her away.

Silly warrior! Silly apprentice! she praised herself mentally- falling to the wits of the great and wonderful Rosestar! She giggled one last time, before slapping her paws over her muzzle. She didn't want to give away her location to the pranked!

Batsong was right next to the pile getting her lunch when the kit popped out and it was such a sudden movement that batsong dropped her lunch and jumped high up into the air with a loud scream. It was loud and for her it was very loud as she was usually such a quiet reserved cat.


Dahhhh she meowed after jumping several feet in the air back from the pile… what in the world was that???? Had a snake gotten into the fresh kill pile??

Blinking rapidly as she landed she saw a rose colored whisp of fur darting toward the nursery and disappearing from sight as it went in.

She had the wind knocked out of her from the shock of it and she slowly realized what had happened.

She grinned after the initial suprise wore off and gave a quiet chuckle … the kitten had gotten her pretty good and she thought back to how she and scorchkit played lots of pranks on the older cats back then…

Glancing back over to her good friend whisperpaw she smiled with a nod s-s-sneaky kit she stuttered with a giggle. She walked over to the nursery purring softly as she peeked her head inside looking around for the rosey colored kit

An eruption of giggles came from her hiding place. Rosekit peeked her head out at the dark she-cat, a devilish grin on her face. "Ha! I got you good, didn't I?" she purred, shaking the raw-kill smell out of her fur. Her eyes flicked to Whisperpaw's concerned look for her friend and felt a twinge of guilt. Guilt which was immediately replaced with pride in having scared them so bad.

"Who're you two, anyways? I dunno your names." Rosekit settled on her haunches, licking a paw like nothing ever happened. "I'm Rosekit, but soon I'll be Rosestar." She shook her fledeling mane proudly. "N' I'm the best trickster the world has ever seen! You are...?"

BAtsong purred at the kits energy. She liked the enthusiasim alot and the kit had gotten her pretty good.

"Y-yes. you g-got us very good" she stuttered, nodding her head in agreement.

"I'm Batsong. she introduced herself.

She thought back to the games she and scorchkit (talon) used to play and how thye always dared each otehr to do different things. It was alot of fun and one of her fond memories.

"wh-when I was a kit I d-dared Scorchkit (now Scorchtalon) to sneak into the leaders d-den and mess up her nest" Batsong said with a grin... "he d-did it too" she said with a laugh.

The innocent prank at the time seemed like such a cool dare but now it was very clear it ws just a bit of fun that was completely harmless.

Batsong was a quiet reserved cat, but she always had a hint of mischeif at times... nothing too crazy but it was still there non the less. Nothing that would ever be bad just little pranks and games here and there.
