As soon as Blazepaw raced off, Smallbean followed, splitting off in a different direction when he noticed she had found a scent trail. He soon found one of his own, this time of a finch. When the scent grew stronger he slowed his steps, birdsong filling his ears. The bird was in his sights now, digging its beak into the ground a few fox-lengths away. He crept up on its backside and lunged at it, just barely missing it's body with his claws. Now sounding a warning call, the bird escaped. The other birds in the area were now alarmed and knew of his presence. great.
