Our Beginning [open]

When the congratulations finally dwindled away, the newest warrior of RiverClan made his way towards the camp entrance. A long night stretched between him and his brand new warrior nest. Clouds hovered over the horizon, threatening the vigil with a storm. Owlshriek hoped that wouldn't be the case, but StarClan wasn't around to keep it from avoiding them. If they really did exist in the first place.

Settling on one side of the entrance, Owlshriek nodded to the last cat who returned to camp. Everyone was accounted for, and it was time to settle in for the long haul. The anxiety about the rain, and the long, tiring night was relieved as he spotted a familiar pelt about to join him. The tom couldn't share how happy he was to see her, so he opted to swish his tail in greeting. Ears that were pointed to the side swiveled towards her. Might not be the best for protecting the camp, but Poppyshine had all his attention.

Poppyshine

Poppyshine could still hardly believe that she was a warrior now. It gave her a happy tingle all the way down to her toes and she couldn’t keep the smile off her face, even all through Owlshriek’s ceremony and now as they entered their vigil. She sat with her head held high and she looks up at the sky, not yet noticing Owlshriek’s focus on her. She wished that the stars could be seen, and that StarClan could acknowledge their vigil, but they couldn’t. That just meant that they would have to keep an extra close eye on their clan’s safety.

She finally glanced over at Owlshriek and her smile softened when she saw his eyes on her too. She flicked her tail a bit in his direction, acknowledging him, before it rested around her paws. Of course she wished that they could speak, but this was for the good of the clan, so she held her tongue. There would be plenty of time for them to speak and congratulate each other again when morning came.
