Beginning of Dawn [OPEN]

Dawnkit shuffled away from the pile she'd been sleeping on. Poplarkit, Minnowkit and she had been snuggled up in a rather small bundle of fluff. She mewed softly as she made her way to the entrance of the warm den and stuck her head out. Immediately popping it back in. It was cold!

She snuck out again, this time forcing her whole little body out then wrinkling her nose. "Stinks Ot 'ere" She stated to no-one in particular, her speech still baby-like. Despite this, she was growing fast and was already almost double the size she had been when she was born. Maybe I'll make some friends, she thought, thought she didn't see many younger cats around. Though she saw some larger ones, clearly adults, but they didn't seem to notice the small, confused and cold kit glancing around. It wasn't that she didn't know what she was doing, she just didn't know how to make friends.

Shallowkit's long, silken fur fluffed out as he observed the cold, crisp day with wide, murky eyes that seemed to capture every detail of the bustling camp. Wrapping his tail around his body, He continued to crouch outside of the nursery; finding the cold and quiet much more enticing than the cramped, stuffy nursery. "Ever since Morningfog had her kits, it's been even more cramped and loud. You can't even find a place to sit without knocking someone over." Shallowkit reflected, his ill temper partly rising from the fact that he was simply ready to be let out of camp for once. A small voice grumbling to itself caught him by surprise, and he turned around to face the voice with wide, unblinking eyes.

"You're one of Morningfog's kits right- Dawnkit?" Shallowkit questioned, whiskers twitching in amusement as he saw how confused Dawnkit looked as she peered around the camp. He could still vividly remember the first time he had been allowed out of the nursery, and how and confusing it all was at first- although that seemed like lifetimes ago already."You're a bit small to be out when it's this cold." Shallowkit observed as he rose to his paws and padded over to the much smaller she-cat, his murky eyes glinting with amusement as he realized how tall he was now.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Acornkit meowed when she spotted one of Morningfog's kits going for her brother's tail. Only she was allowed to bite her brother, anyone else had to go through her first before even thinking about attacking her family. The she-kit bolted over to Minnowkit, before bowling him over with her entire body weight behind her. She didn't use her claws, she had enough sense to not actually harm her clanmate, but she didn't appreciate him hurting her brother and intended to show it.

Morningfog was sleeping deeply, tired from the catastrophic tension the had snapped in the clans and stressed her for many nights. She only woke when she heard the bustle of kits. Her eyes scanned them as she blinked the sleep out of them and smiled. Shuffling in the busy den full of small bodies, she moved a small bit closer, flinching at the cold air. "Isn't it a bit cold for you all?"

A kit, clearly older than her, approached Dawnkit. She nodded at his question "Ye' I am" she muttered, still confused. Who was this?
When he asked whether she should be out in the cold, she didn't reply. How am I supposed to answer that? What kind of a question was it? She had no idea what a rhetorical question was. Before she could think of a response, Minnowkit charged over, attempting to bite the other kit's tail.

"get 'im M'now'it" She chuckled before another kit ran over.
"Oi' leave M'now'it 'lone!" She mewed, pausing suddenly as their mother came out. "Lil' bi' 'old'" She replied, turning back to watch the other kits tumble.

Though her original intentions were to protect her brother from Minnowkit, Acornkit soon forgot why she was tussling and just started to have fun. She mouthed at her denmate's ear, playfully tugging on it when she called out to her sister for help. "C'mon Shallowkit. Help me!"
