Shimmerpaw's Starclan Dream

Let's just get over this. The ginger tom approached the entrance of the medicine cat's den and sat down inside, waiting for Shimmerpaw to appear. The night was slowly taking over the sky and the warriors and apprentices were slowly returning to their dens to sleep. Now that leafbare was finally over, Fawnsong didn't have to check so often the nursery and apprentice's den for cases of greencough. But he still did from time to time... just to be sure. However, tonight he wouldn't be able to check on Specklekit and Crowkit as usual. It was time for another failed Starclan dream... just another night of disappointment without communication with their ancestors.

Shimmerpaw entered the medicine den, unsure of what to expect. A dream sent from dead cats? Sounded weird... but alright. He wasn't going to tell the medicine cat no. He gave a smile and a nod as he entered and settled himself into a nest. He wiggled into it deeply to be sure he was as comfortable as possible. He took several deep breaths to help himself completely relax. "I'll let you know if anything happens." It was all he could do. Shimmerpaw's deep blue eyes slowly closed and he allowed sleep to overtake him.

His dream was mostly about swatting bees and chasing butterflies, an activity he came to enjoy with all of the warmth from newleaf. Several colors swirled all around him and the day was bright. It was a good dream, albeit a but trippy, but no starry ancestors visited him that night.

Once the dream ended, Shimmerpaw was awake several hours later. He looked around, focusing on the medicine cat after surveying the room. He had definitely woken up. His dream had ended. Hating to be the bearer of bad news, Shimmerpaw slowly shook his head, but said nothing. He only managed to mouth a "sorry" before he stood from the nest. Maybe this just wasn't meant to be.
