Fawnpaw's Medicine Cat Ceremony

This one would be different.. Due to the situation at hand he couldn't take her to the Moonstone, but she had certainly had earned the spot to become a full medicine cat beside him. She was just as attentive if not more than he was, her willingness to work had certainly paid off, and her full name would be her reward. Though in his mind it only seemed like a short time ago she was just being named his apprentice.

Green eyes looked to Fawnpaw as the two medicine cats sat inside their den. He couldn't call it his own anymore, since she was just as much of a resident as he was. She had made her place. "Fawnpaw." He started. "I think it's time you earned your full name." He said to her. "I know I can't exactly do the usual ceremony, but even a ceremony here is just as good. I'm sure Starclan can see your dedication even when they aren't around."

There was a bittersweet mix of emotions as Fawnpaw knew she was about to get her full name. Her heterochromia eyes stared back at Dovefrost, wondering if she'd ever even be a proper MC like most others— how did Dovefrost get his name? Was it as unusual as hers? She doubted it. As more and more time passed, the hope for this.. 'StarClan' actually returning... Slowly began to diminish.

Would they? I thought StarClan was 'gone'. Though it was just a thought, the apprentice had to stop herself before she'd accidentally mouthed it out. Even Stoatstar has fallen to the Dark Forest cats... Their leader, down to the paws of those lurkers inside camp. With a forced smile, she nodded to Dovefrost, a sign to show that she was ready to continue. Or at least— that's what she needed to do to get her full name.

Dovefrost returned his apprentice nod. Good, he was glad she was willing to take on her full name. Even if part of the process of being a medicine cat was gone, they still had a job to do around the clan. They needed to heal, and guide even if their ancestors weren't around.

"I, Dovefrost, Medicine cat of Thunderclan call upon our ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to learn the ways of the medicine cat, and will serve her clan for many moons." He said, it was strange. He finally had an apprentice reach their Medicine cat Ceremony. It was a wonderful feeling. Even if it was in such a dark time.

"Fawnpaw, do you promise to uphold the way of the medicine cat? To stand apart from rivalry between clan and clan? And to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?" If she agreed then she would be a full medicine cat.

"I do."

Though her words were firm, at a certain point or so, she'd almost had to decline. Stand apart from rivalry? Protect cats at the cost of her life? Was that what Dovefrost had agreed to as well? — But she should've expected this beforehand. She was to be a medicine cat— a grand position with lots of responsibilities... Yet also fame. She'd be well-known with other MCs, and her future name, full name, was to be expected soon.

Tail curling around her paws, Fawnpaw waited for more.

Dovefrost spoke. "Then by the powers.. of our ancestors. I grant you your full Medicine Cat name. Fawnpaw from this moment on, you will be known as Fawnshine. Thank you for your dedication and the light you bring to this clan no matter the situation. Thunderclan welcomes you as a full Medicine cat." He told her, proud that finally one of his apprentices earned her name.

The large white tom relaxed a little. "I'm proud of you Fawnshine. Thank you for sticking with me. I look forward everything you will do in the future." He told her. He wasn't the best at expressing his feelings or using his words, all he could do was try and hope that she knew just how important she was to him.

Fawnshine.

Her new name felt so.. strange, yet likable. It was still something so new to her, but soon, she figured she’d get used to it. ”Thank you, Dovefrost,” She mewed, offering the older tom a small inclination of the head. She wasn't exactly sure if he felt like how she did, either. But she was dedicated to what she had decided to become — and she was a full medicine cat now. No matter if she wasn't pure-blood, or was a kit of a murderer. Actually.. that mattered. But she'd prove to them she wasn't just that. All of her siblings and her will prove it wrong. Fawnshine didn't want to believe that such a horrendous, infamous cat was her father— even the thought of it made her fir bristle... But she couldn't change the fact of it.

She had to go along with the truth. Clenching her teeth, though silently, Fawnshine remained still until she was dismissed.
