Dreampaw's Medicine Cat Ceremony

Nightfire had rustled his apprentice, making the familiar journey to the entrance that would lead to the Moonstone. Looking at her, she had grown to her full size, still dwarfed by his huge frame though. She would take on her full name as a medicine cat, but still would be his apprentice until his fateful end. He didn't say anything, just merely looking at her to see if she had any words to say before they continued. It reminded him of the time he brought Coalspirit to hers, and he had been betrayed.

Dreampaw's eyes traveled into the dark opening of the cave. She let out a small exhale. She looked up at Nightfire and gave him a nod.
"Let's go," Dreampaw stated with a confident voice. She had to admit she was excited to become a Medicine Cat. She couldn't let that show though, so Dreampaw buried her excitement with calmness.

Nightfire turned and continued into the cave, his paws went along the memorized path, bringing them to the Moonstone. He started at the glowing stone and then looked to Dreampaw. "I, Nightfire, medicine cat of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve her Clan for many moons. Dreampaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?" His thoughts went back to Swiftnose, his old mentor, when he had said those words to him. He missed him so. Even after all this time.

Dreampaw followed Nightfire down the path. She only walked this path a few times, so it was still a bit unfamiliar. When they stopped, Dreampaw's eyes landed on the glowing stone and her breath was taken away once again. She turned her head to Nightfire and listened to him.
"I do," Dreampaw responded.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Dreampaw, from this moment on you will be known as Dreamleaf. StarClan honors your dedication and sacrifice, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of ThunderClan." Nightfire rested his muzzle on his apprentices head.

Dreampaw-no Dreamleaf closed her eyes and respectfully licked Nightfire's shoulder. She opened her eyes and let out a small breath. Dreamleaf dipped her head to Nightfire. She didn't dare talk as her excitement would burst out her mouth in a blurry of words and nonsense. So she didn't the only sensible thing, keep her mouth shut.
