Boarkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Shrikestorm climbed to the top of Tallrock, preparing to address the clan. "All cats old enough to run the moors gather at the Tallrock for a clan meeting!"

Boarkit padded out, not a single thought in her little head. All she knew was that her deputy was calling a meeting and that one must always answer to your summons.

"Boarkit, you've reached the age of six moons. From now until you reach warriorhood, you will be known as Boarpaw. Your mentor will be Ashfall."

With each kit that left the nursery, Swiftspirit felt both a sense of loss and pride. They were growing fast, and Boarkit was the latest to earn her rank as an apprentice. She looked on as the ceremony completed, giving Ashfall a small smile. Her friend was a good choice to mentor Boarpaw, she knew, and would teach her everything she needed to be a warrior the clan could be proud of. One that Bearspirit could be proud of... If the stars were able to watch from wherever they'd been locked away to.

Ashfall, who had recently had kits of her own, was pleased to see her friend's kits growing up. She was honored to be the mentor of any kit, but especially those of friends. It just felt as if she was trusted... it was too bad that they likely didn't share her views in keeping the clan safe. That was alright though, for now, they would have to eventually come around. For now, Ashfall awkwardly leaned herself down to touch noses with Boarpaw, looking at her through her one eye. "We will start training at, and we will train hard. I hope you're prepared for that come morning." A small, weary smile, crossed Ashfall's face before she limped away, tail flicking Swiftspirit kindly.
