Shrikestorm climbed to the top of the Tallrock, preparing to address the clan. "All cats old enough to run the moors gather around the Tallrock for a clan meeting!"

Owlkit was basking in the sun, after having very deliberately scraped a patch of the camp floor free of snow and ice. It had taken him some time, but the reward of not becoming wet during his nap was worth it. His pelt was sleek and short, but it was thick, and above the thick layer of muscle it still held warmth well.
At the sound of Shrikestorm's voice, the pale kit lifted his head and tilted to the side ever so slightly. A few of his siblings had been made apprentices, so perhaps this would be his? Owlkit unwound himself from the tight ball he'd been curled in and padded silently towards the group of gathering WindClanners.
Swiftspirit had kept an eye on Owlkit, along with the rest of her kits that had yet to be apprenticed. He was napping in a carefully-cleared patch of ground, but he was quick to wake when Shrikestorm called the clan together. Swiftspirit padded over to him, affectionately nudging his shoulder as she sat and waited for the meeting to begin.

"Owlkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and you are ready to become an apprentice. From now until you become a warrior, you will be known as Owlpaw. Your mentor will be Batsong."

Batsong sat at the base of tallrock and listened to the ceremony. Her eyes widened as she was chosen to be the mentor for Owlpaw... wow what an honor! ... Her leader and deputy still trusted her with an apprentice after what happened to Rosepaw?? The quiet she cat still blamed herself for her old apprentice's disappearence and so getting a new apprentice was unexpected but she was happy to see that her clanmates still trusted her, it made her realize it was not her fault that Rosepaw was gone and that she would need to move past that.
She walked over to Owlpaw and happily sat next to them "C-...congratulations!" she stuttered as per her usual.
"W-w...we c-can start training very soon!.... for now get a nice spot in your new home the apprentice den"
