See the Lightning in Your Eyes [OPEN]

Shimmerpaw bolted across the moor, reveling in the ability to stretch his long, gangly legs. It was an exhilarating feeling, his heart pounding in his chest and his lungs on fire from the effort of moving the earth swiftly beneath his paws. Despite the cloudiness, despite the cold, Shimmerpaw was on fire. His smile couldn't get any bigger or his face would split into two. He hadn't meant any harm from going out on his own. Most adults had no interest in running full tilt through a wide open space unless it was after prey. Shimmerpaw wanted to do it for fun and without anyone yelling at him to "slow down" or "come back". The apprentice was fast and lean from how much running he enjoyed doing.

A solid white hare suddenly burst from it's position in the snow, startling the apprentice at first, but then he closed in on it. Now this was a real test. Could he catch a hare? Was he truly worthy of being a Windclan cat? He was willing to find out. Running was fun and at this point for him, about effortless, but having a target to chase gave the already swift apprentice and additional burst of speed. His sapphire blue eyes were alight chasing the hare. He finally decided to give it a try... and pounced.

He latched onto the hare... but what else was he supposed to do? Before he could think about sinking his teeth into it's throat, the giant of a rabbit cousin took the apprentice for a ride. All Shimmerpaw could do was hang on. A sudden feeling of concern for his safety came crashing into his bright little world. The hare carried the nearly weightless apprentice for several moments before Shimmerpaw closed his eyes tight and retracted his claws. He hit the snow and sprawled across the more in a flurry of snowflakes. The hare was out of sight in what seemed like an instant. Shimmerpaw himself however, popped up out of the snow, shook the glistening white substance off of him... and immediately burst into a loud fit of laughter.

"THAT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!" He yowled to no one and nothing in particular. His eyes already began to scan the moor for another hare to ride.

Mistysky had never been the type to like taking orders, as cats often quickly found out. She certainly wasn't going to take them from no dark forest cats. She was ready to burst out of camp, go anywhere but here. But a calico just had to ruin her plans.

"Where you off to in such a hurry? Don't tell me you don't like my company. You might hurt my feelings!"

Right. Because a foxheart like her could have feelings. And she meant foxheart in the most literal sense, like, this cat literally wore a fox! What cat did that??

"I'm going hunting. Do I need an escort on my own territory?"

"Mmm, no." And yet she still followed. The tone in her voice made Mistysky want to claw her throat out.

Instead, she decided to release her anger on a hare she could see sprinting across the moor. Although she did not expect to see Shimmerpaw falling off of it. The dark forest cat immediately started cackling at the sight, but Mistysky immediately darted after the ball of apparently very strong fur. Shimmerpaw was okay, so she was not letting this hare get away.

A predator was summoned!

As she was running, in such a hurry, she was not paying much attention to where she was going, and apparently snakes didn't like getting stepped on. She hissed in pain as the serpent latched on to her leg.

Tawnyflare was having a good time until the snake arrived. But as it stood, her orders were to keep these WindClan cats from dying, and so she raced forward as Mistysky tried to latch her teeth on the snake to throw it off. With unsheathed claws, Tawnyflare attempted to smack the legless creature.

It appeared as though two cats attacking at the same time was not a good idea, while Mistysky had managed to throw the serpent off, with her target moved too quick for her to change direction, Tawnyflare ended up with her legs crossed as she fell to the ground.

Now it was Mistysky's turn to laugh.

Before he could spot another hare, there were voices on the wind. Shimmerpaw turned to look, seeing a Dark Forest cat following after Mistysky... ah! There was another hare! Shimmerpaw moved swiftly to try to cut the other animal off, but a snake happened to jump out from basically nowhere. Shimmerpaw froze for a moment and stared. Mistysky was a capable warrior, surely? And Tawnyflare... well she was a Dark Forest cat. Did they really need him? He was almost content to say absolutely not and take off, leaving this fight to more qualified paws. However, Tawnyflare missed her attack on it and the snake was still moving.

I'm going to regret this, aren't I? Still, he charged forward. Maybe he could at least get the snake to shoo or something. Then he wouldn't have to actually fight it...
