Mottlerose's tail twitched anxiously as she limped out towards the center of camp. Her paw had been healing rather well, but there was some other news to come in light of her injury that she needed to tell Minnowfin. Unfortunately, due to having been kept under the watch of Doveforst, she hadn't her usual chance to nudge Minnowfin before he went to do his duties as deputy. It gnawed at her stomach terribly, especially considering that she had just been given two apprentices. Her mind was presently stuck attempting to formulate ideas as to how to train them while injured, and she believed to have come up with at least how to get them started on sparring in camp. Sure, the warrior had full confidence she could go beyond the walls of the camp in order to train them, but it wouldn't be the safest bet considering her track record with running into predators.

So as such, she paced somewhat anxiously around the camp, awaiting the silver tom's appearance.

Waterlily's litter had brought another hoard of apprentices to train, increasing the workload of most warriors, Minnowfin included. Returning into camp after a session with one of his apprentices, he spotted Mottlerose, eyes lighting up immediately. Hastily he told the apprentice to rest and made his way to her, a welcome smile on his maw. Concern for the molly started to build up as he noticed the way she was pacing with a limp. "Mottlerose... is everything alright? Are you okay? Is your paw bothering you still? I can get Dovefrost right now if you need me too-" The tom blurted out, brushing his pelt against hers.

Her own gaze lit up upon seeing the deputy walk into camp, the tortoiseshell's tail instantly flittering to the air. It was hard not to feel warmth inside of her pelt as she watched how amazing he was with the apprentices, as well as just how he handled all of his duties so well. Pride always swelled within the Molly as she watched him. However, that pride hadn't stopped her pacing as she changed her target to pacing towards the Tom. It was bothering her just slightly, but mostly due to her practically pacing new tunnels into the camps earth. Closing her eyes and letting out a soft purr as his silvery pelt mixed with her black and gold, Mottlerose let herself sit to take the weight off her angered appendage. "I'm so glad to see you... My paw is fine," She brushed his worry off almost reflexively. "I have something you need to know, though."

Anticipation burned the inside of the tortoiseshell's cheeks as she led the tom towards a quieter part of camp. Limping as quickly as she could, her tail continued to flutter in excitement. Should he take the time to study her frame, Mottlerose certainly was beginning to look more filled out than her usual sleek build. "So... I feel really bad for my apprentices... but..." Her good paw kneaded at the ground, a habit she had picked up from Minnowfin. "We're gonna be having kits!"

So its not her paw... he thought, a little relieved. Her next words were strangely mysterious and it left a burning curiosity in his mind. "What is it? Oh-" Following after the tortoiseshell who was held closest to his heart, words quickly left his maw. She seemed... excited? There was something different about her, but he couldn't quite tell what it was. When the news was revealed, he let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. "We're having... k-kits?!", he whispered, almost like a gasp. At first, his expression was one of shock, but quickly it turned into one of utter joy. Barely resisting a tackle, he settled for a gentle headbutt and an affectionate cheek rub. Words could not describe the feeling, but a loud purr rumbled in his throat. I can't believe it... I'm going to be a father!
