Golden Sunlight (Open)

For what felt like an eternity now ThunderClan's camp had been wrapped in a sheer, unbreakable snow flurry that had chilled Meadowbrook to her very bones.  Finally, though, the storm had stopped, and when the spotted tabby she-cat opened her eyes and gazed out of her warm nest bright sunlight greeted her.  Quickly the queen got up and stretched, before purring in a sing-song tone to the other bundled she-cats and kits in the nursery.  "Oh my, the storm's finally stopped!  You know what that means little ones...who wants to go play in the fresh snow?"  Flicking her long fluffy tail and winking at the mothers who were likely exhausted from being stuck inside with their rowdy kits for so long, Meadowbrook led the kittens who wished to play out into the clearing.

It was still cold, that was for certain, but once Meadowbrook found a sunny spot she felt her body fill with energy.  She had been getting tired of being cooped up as well, and the energetic queen longed to stretch her legs.  There were plenty of other cats in the clearing with it being near sunhigh, most of them likely about to head out on patrols.  With a mischievous grin though, Meadowbrook swept her paw through the soft powdery snow, sending it falling down over the kits in a great wave.  Laughing, she jumped to her paws and prepared to run from the retaliation she was sure would come.

Softpaw had been sitting nearby, he was grounded from going out during this time due to the numerous times he had gotten himself into messes... first the disaster at the deputy ceremony followed close behind with the disaster at the riverclan border. Nothing recently had been going his way, he wanted to help his clan but at every turn he seemed to mess something up.

He was busy sulking away as a giant snow wave plowed into him. He stood there shocked for a second, the snow was so cold and it got all up in his pelt. Shaking it off he spun around annoyed at first.

It was hard for him to stay angry seeing what a good mood Meadowbrook was in, he gave a quick glance around... hmm he couldn't see any of his siblings watching... and he didn't see Starlingflare either...If any of them had been there he would ignore it and keep a stone face on... he had an image of himself as being very serious stone faced warrior who wouldnt get involved with these types of things and he didn't want to change that. Especially if Starlingflare was watching who he admired a great deal.

bbbbuuuuuttttt.....

seeing as how no one was really watching and given how bored he was of being stuck in camp all the time from his grounding...

he let out a small purr and chased after the queen "Come on kits lets get her back!" he giggled playing along with them.

He quickly caught up and tossed some snow back at Meadowbrook playfully. The kitten "army" swarmed after them the best they could running along on their short little legs, squealing all the way.

Reedpaw watched with amusement as his brother played with the kits. it was rare to see his brother like this. "Hey, Softpaw, take this!" he called as he slammed a paw down on a pile of snow, spraying his brother's face with the white powder.

Softpaw got a bunch of powdery snow sent at his face and he whirled around seeing Reedpaw...

he stood up straighter and quickly dropped his playful attitude... He was an apprentice and this was for kits! He told himself. He took himself way too seriously. He shoved some snow back Reedpaw's way before huffing and shaking his fur out and storming off in his usual angry manner.

Reedpaw was confused when his brother's smile twisted into a frown and he angrily stalked off. he tipped his head. did he do something to upset Softpaw? maybe he shouldn't have send snow towards his face.
