Taking a Chance [Solo]

Torn slunk through the underbrush that littered this great garden. Some low laying bushes offered enough cover from any near by two legs.. This area was also a little more forested than some of the other parts of this garden. In the distance she could hear the cry of the two-leg kits as they did... whatever it was in the snow. She didn't know how they seemed to enjoy this. It was way too cold.

The gold and white warrior continued on her path, pushing herself to move silently as azure eyes scanned for prey.. Maybe she could find something. Anything would do to satisfy her rumbling stomach. She had broke through the other side of some brush, freezing as she heard some small movements. Below a tree partly covered in snow sat a squirrel.. This was her chance! Anything at this point was better than rat.. Goodness how she missed the decent prey of the Skyclan territory. As soon as she lunged the squirrel had seen her coming and she face planted into the cold snow. A harsh hiss escaped her as she pulled herself out of the chill... Thorns.. Maybe next time.

Deep in her heart she knew that she shouldn't stick around this great garden too much longer. There was a major risk of getting caught by Twolegs.. She could only try to track down one or two more things before having to leave.. Another rumble of her stomach caught her attention, and she let out a small sigh. She couldn't rely on the rogue group to feed her, not now with all of the younger cats around. Though now she had a warm place to stay, and some protection.

She pushed forward, making sure to keep distance from the twoleg kits. She wondered the area a little more, straying from the denser forest area just a little. She needed to distance herself from her earlier miss. As she crept around she noticed a mouse digging through the snow.. If she missed this time.. She didn't know what she would do.

'Hunting Dice' : 9

The she-cat leapt back from her spot as soon as an owl came out of the trees heading for the mouse, but missing it because the she-cat had leapt from her crouch. As the two creatures targeting the mouse focused on each other, Tornshadow took it upon herself to make the first move. As she did the Owl lashed out with its talons.

Tornshadow used Jumping Strike dealing 11 damage, -7 SP

She hissed out as the claws had landed on her. She could feel the warmth of her blood as it dripped down her shoulder. She turned back to the owl as it tried to take to the air, obviously gearing up for another attack. She couldn't let that happen. Torn grabbed on the bird's wing, yanking hard, pulling it back to the ground. Obviously stunning it from the pain for a moment.

Her trick seemed to work, as it tried to recover from being on the ground, Tornshadow took her chance to try and finish it off. Rearing back she slammed her paws down onto the Owl dealing as much damage as she could. If she could finish off this Owl, the rogue group would be eating good for a couple days. Of course the Owl tried to do what it could to get the cat away and off of it so it could make it back to the sky, but it didn't seem that would happen.

With one final blow Tornshadow finished off the owl, feeling pleased with herself despite how tired she was feeling from the fight. At least she had food now. She could still feel the blood trickling down her shoulder and chest, the gold fur being stained darker while the white fur was being stained pink. She would have to get those treated later, or learn how to treat it herself from her father.

She took one last look around, glad the sounds of her fight didn't alert the kits that were still playing near by. Once she caught her breath she grabbed the owl and started the long journey home.
