Underwater [Closed]

Minnowpaw breathed a sigh of relief, a little scared that the warrior would drag him out of his spot right then and there. Starlingflare's glare seemed to scorch his pelt more than the sun did on the hottest day. He had only wanted to stop a fight from breaking out! Sharing prey for once couldn't possibly hurt any cat, right? he tried to convince himself, waiting for the stranger to leave. Once she did, he'd have to face Starlingflare and explain himself, he supposed.

Atalante scoffed at the tom's words. "Fair enough." She muttered. He continued, and... Definitely wasn't thrilled at the younger cat's proposed solution, but he did agree. "Thank you." It was something, at least.

Atalante set her catch on the ground, then began to carefully separate a leg from the carcass before there could be any objections. She wouldn't need as much as the two cats in front of her, that much was clear. And if she took more than that, who knew how the one-eyed tom would react, anyways.

"Right... I'll take this and I'll be out of your fur. Really." She said.

Starlingflare watched intently as the she-cat had set the prey down, and began to separate it. At first he felt rage bubbling in his gut as she started to take a leg. Was she intending to take the bigger part for herself? He felt his lips twitch, daring to draw up into a snarl, but it seemed that he got the wrong impression. She left the bigger portion for them. A small part of him thankful, but they should have had the whole piece of prey to themselves.

The gray tom stepped up and took the piece of prey, and brought it over to Minnowpaw. "Make sure the elders, and queens get some first. I will track something down for us to eat." He told the apprentice. "While you are there, you can make sure their nests are clean, and they don't have any ticks or fleas."

Starlingflare looked back to Atalante with his single yellow eye. "Be on your way now. Stick to the borders, and you probably won't get hurt." He told her, offering advice of traversing somewhat safely as a peace offering.

Minnowpaw was tempted to slink away while the warrior's attention was focused on the she-cat, but the risk of getting caught was too high. If he got caught trying to run away, Starlingflare might give him an even worse punishment. The stranger took a leg from the mouse and was urged to leave. Oh dear- The young tom lowered his head, but still met the warrior's gaze. Starlingflare approached him with the remains of the prey and directed him with clear instructions to feed the queens and elders. As well as some apprentice duties. And so the apprentice took the prey with an inaudible sigh and headed back to camp.
