Still Breathing, Underwater [closed for Cloverpool]

Blacktwig was asleep. For so long, his eyes swam in silent darkness. He felt weightless, floating. Finally, his violet-blue eyes opened, and he felt a mass beneath his paws. He gasped, seeing the starry canopies bordering beautiful plains. He expected to see Pepper, in fact, he hoped to see her again. The black-and-white cripple had been going through such hard times lately, and Blacktwig barely got a task to assist. His teeth locked, as he heard his own heartbeat. Aggression pulsed through him when he didn't see Pepper, assuming that the she-cat was in danger. For a moment, this anger went on, fluid as it flowed through him. His eyes searched the plains, and finally, his anger reached a plateau. A wave of calmness rushed over Blacktwig, washing away the fear and indignation in his orbs, until it dwindled to a mere, hapless pulp. Hope boiled up inside of him, when he caught sight of an elegant, feline figure.

"Hello?" Blacktwig called, through the eerie silence. He stepped forwards, hearing his own claws, unsheathed with utter trepidation, click against the floor. A shining light emitted from somewhere, yet the source was unidentified. A brown-and-white tabby she-cat sat patiently in the distance, or so it seemed. He drank in a familiar scent. Who's that? Blacktwig thought, fleeting consternation replaced with assurance. It seemed intimate, which made him feel safe and comfortable. The scent of fresh pine lingered in the air. "I'm Blacktwig. Who are you?" he repeated, more calmly.

His slumber remained undistorted, but the clear silhouette stayed. "Can you hear me?" Blacktwig asked. "I'm Blacktwig." he said.

"And you are...?"

IC: Mothstrike was frozen in time. Memories of her last moments trapped under the freeezing cold snow in the strange tunnel flashed through her mind. A voice cut like a knife cut through butter a voice ripped her from the dreadful memory of her slow death and she turned. A cat grew closer and she turned when she heard his name. Blacktwig.. where had she heard that before? She strained her muddled memory until she found the name. Blacktwig was her father.. "Father it's be Mothstrike.." She meowed her hazelneyes searching her fathers face for anything anything at all.

Blacktwig's eyes glowed with nostalgia and slight sadness. "Mothstrike!" he practically screamed, running towards her. "It's me, Blacktwig, I..." the depths of his eyes were filled with a cloudy remembrance.

Mothstrike purred and nuzzles her father like a little kit. "Dad how are you?" The she cat meowed hazel eyes searching violet ones.

"Oh, I'm wonderful," Blacktwig said with a swift purr. He looked behind him, to make sure that no intruders were coming to invade this wondrous dream. His fur felt light upon his back, and his paws sunk into the gelatine-like ground below him. His fur was speckled with stars, and his eyes were as bright as lights. He looked almost like the fabled, ancient StarClan cats. The felines would prowl the plains, in search for the prey that never ran scarce- oh! What a magical thing it would be to be a StarClan member. But Blacktwig didn't plan on dying anytime soon. He nuzzled his daughter, with high amounts of love in his deep, low purrs. "Mottledwing is doing great," he reported zestfully. "She has an apprentice now," he meowed. His ears lay slightly drooped with affection for his deceased daughter.

A purr rumbled in Mothstrike's throat and she smiled. She didn't really know her sister real well her having been made an apprentice before her and then a warrior they never really hung out but she was glad she's doing good. "Thats good to hear. How are Goldenkit, Umberkit, Icepaw, Darkpaw, and Jaypaw. I miss them terribly. Oh and Blazepaw how is he faring? It's so strange here dad there's so many cats that I don't know here and a couple that I do know. It's very unsettling." The she cat meowed, thinking of the time she saw Cloverpool here.

Blacktwig listened to his daughter. He felt the thumping of drums in his ears, and his eyes were full, like molten embers. He looked down at his greyish fur, which was a lighter shade than his usual, sable black. He looked like a StarClan cat himself. "Goldenkit is Goldenpaw now." he began. "He, Icepaw, Darkpaw, Umberkit, and Jaypaw are wonderful. Jaypaw is who Mottledwing is mentoring." Blacktwig orated, with a sway of his tail. The stars victimized his consciousness, bringing it to a strange, false reality, that Mothstrike was alive. Unfortunately, this illusion didn't last. His mind alluded him back to his senses. He felt the mossy ground caress his pads, seeming to heal them of all authentic wounds. He sighed wistfully.

"Has Umberkit become an apprentice yet? She should be about that age. Oh Cloverpool says hi.And that she misses you all." She meowed.

"No... not yet. But she should be soon," Blacktwig said, with a flicker of his tail-tip. He now looked... fully dead. He wasn't, of course - he was just caught up in the fantasy. The temperature and velocity of the breeze was just right, as if it was real. He thought of Umberkit; the adorable bundle of fur that she was. His granddaughter. Blacktwig broke into an irresistible, low purr. His tail waved across the ground, scattering barely visible dust.

OOC: actually I checked and Umberkit is having her ceremony rn

IC: Mothstrike purred. "Thats good. I miss you." She meowed sitting down and flicking her tail for her father to sit down.

Blacktwig nodded, gladly taking a seat beside the she-cat that was his daughter. "So how is it?" Blacktwig suddenly opted, looking around at the starry area. "You know... being here." Blacktwig scratched the back of his ear, wondering how a younger cat like Mothstrike could function here. If he came, he'd know the place like it was stained to the back of his paw - from all of these somewhat prophetic dreams, at least.

"Its very strange here." Mothstrike meowed flicking her tail.

Blacktwig looked around, the back of his neck feeling the arc of his spine. He shivered, his head jerking forwards again. Stars surrounded them everywhere, anyways. "Well, it is new," he said. The clouds seemed scary with their size. Of course it was strange, what was he thinking. He laughed softly, his ebony fur prickling against wintry winds.

Mothstrike laughed. She gazed around about the plains and flicked her tail.
