Dandelions Flying at Dusk

Dandelionflight's paws kicked up snow as she ran through the forest. It was lightly snowing, and her fur had begun to collect snowflakes on her back. She was enjoying her little run, though she didn't know where she was going. A couple of trees started to loom on the horizon, and she realized where she was. She had made it all the way to Fourtrees! Slowing down, she made her into the clearing and looked around. It appeared to be empty, so she started to explore. The quickly disappearing light of sunset made it harder to see, and she squinted at a shape on the top of the clearing.

(OOC- This takes place the day before the gathering)

White, vaporized gusts of smoke exhaled out from his maw as he dashed across the marshland. With only one objective in mind, Duskflight chased after the prey that he was aiming for, paws made ready to close off the distance. With an abrupt turn, it bolted across the thunderpath, and he instinctively followed it across without properly thinking. It scurried underneath the bushes, leaving him panting as he stood on a pile of snow. It got away.

Suddenly, a brownish, dark-furred figure appeared from afar. With curiosity and caution in his senses, he approached the figure, ready to defend himself if it seemed to be anyone dangerous. The tom got closer, keeping his steps light until he could properly see who that figure was. "Dandelion..flight?" His fur flattened down in relaxation, knowing that she wasn't a threat to be so cautious of. Well, at least.. for now. "What are you doing here? SkyClan's so far away," He tilted his head in question, "Although I won't necessarily complain. It's nice to see you again, Dandelionflight. How are you doing?"

Dandelionflight was soon able to make out that the shape was some cat. The fur along her spine started to prickle and she hoped that the cat wasn't dangerous. After they got closer, she recognized the cat's dark fur as Duskpaw's. Relaxing upon figuring this out, she listened to his questions. Dandelionflight meowed in response, "I just decided to go for a run, and I seem to have gone farther than expected. I've been doing good! How about you?" She realized that Duskpaw must be a warrior by now and added, "I'd assume you're a warrior now. What you're new name?" She hadn't expected to see the ShadowClan tom, but she was happy none the less.

"I'm doing pretty good, too," The tom smiled back. Lying wasn't a very good thing, though talking about his continuous predator encounters and failed catches was more so of.. distracting. It made him flush at the thought, and how he'd been so confident before Leaf-bare, too. How was everyone doing? Had Dandelionflight managed to have better catches than his, maybe? She seemed more experienced, after all. "Oh, yes! About a few moons now, actually," He proudly purred, "And it's Duskflight. We've both encountered the same situation, then. I've chased a prey and gone further than I thought, too. Then the next thing I knew, you also seemed to be right here," He chuckled, glad to have been able to see the she-cat, too.

Dandelionflight cheerfully smiled at the ShadowClan tom. She was glad he was doing well despite the harsh conditions. "With all the changes of new leaders, what's Murkystar like? I know Bloodstar has been a good leader so far," She meowed to Duskflight. She looked up at the quickly darkening sky and realized that she should be leaving soon. Though she didn't want to go just yet.

"Really? I'm glad to hear SkyClan has a good leader. ShadowClan has, too! Murkystar's doing fantastic as a leader." Duskflight purred and glanced up along with Dandelionflight. Oh, it was getting dark. The warrior frowned. He didn't want to go just yet, although he should, soon. Being astray from the clan for too long would cause suspicion— especially with no prey in sight. For a moment, he sniffed the air. Not much prey was around, and though he wanted to attempt to find one... with his luck in Leaf-bare, it'd be smarter to not. Failing to catch prey would be embarrassing nonetheless, either way. "Anything new recently? It has been a while since we met again," Duskflight questioned.
