Jasminepaw's Mentor Assignment Ceremony

After Jasminepaw had approached Murkystrike, the deputy had spent the time before she fell asleep pondering her options. As she fell asleep, she made her decision. Now, it was time to announce it to the clan. Shaking the sleep from her eyes, she stretched as she exited the warriors den and made her way to Jaggedrock, skillfully climbing up it to stand over the clan as it woke up. Lifting her voice to the stars shining overhead, she called the clan together. "ShadowClan! Please gather in the shadow of Jaggedrock."

Jasminepaw took a deep breath, then stepped forward, gathering with the rest of ShadowClan. It's my ceremony, isn't it? she thought, yet the feeling didn't feel her with anxiety like she thought it would. If it is mine, then after today I'll be a proper ShadowClan cat! The thought alone brought a smile to the little she-cat's face, heart swelling with pride. I'm finally home.

Murkystrike spotted Jasminepaw among the gathered cats, and kept an eye on her as the rest of the clan gathered. Once they had all settled into silence, she continued. "ShadowClan, I've gathered you here today to announce the assignment of a mentor to a young cat. She has chosen to learn the ways of ShadowClan and become one of our own. Jasminepaw, please step forward." She paused, waiting for Jasminepaw to do so before continuing. "Jasminepaw, you have chosen to learn the ways of a ShadowClan warrior. Your name will remain the same. Your mentor will be Loudnose. I trust that he will guide your paws well as you learn our ways, and I formally welcome you to ShadowClan." She mewed before leaping from Jaggedrock and ending the ceremony.
