Subject: Into the Unknown [OPEN] Thu 23 Sep 2021 - 16:12
It had been some time since she'd left Skyclan, and today Birdsong found that her curiosity had gotten the better of her as she slipped through the fence that separated the forest from twolegplace, paws quiet on the hard gray stone beneath as she made her way through the winding pathways. She leapt onto a fence, the higher vantage allowing her to get a better view of her surroundings before moving onward. She didn't really have a destination in mind, today she was simply exploring.
The last time Birdsong had been here, she'd been too engrossed in tracking a rabbit to pay attention to her surroundings. Now however, she was more cautious. She wouldn't make the same mistake of being unaware twice. Crumbling brick walls and rotted wood lined overgrown hedges and the outskirts of long-abandoned twoleg nests. Birdsong had been raised on stories of Skyclan sheltering here after a fire, and she could see why. For being in twolegplace, this stretch of abandoned, crumbling territory was deserted of monsters prowling the thunderpaths. It was deserted of twolegs, and even the scents of other cats were scattered few and far between. She wasn't naïve enough to think that other rogues weren't around, but she wasn't going to go out of her way to seek them out, either. If she wanted companionship, she had Tornshadow, after all.
A part of her did miss interacting with other cats, though... Birdsong shook her head. She wouldn't go back to the clans, no matter how much she missed being within a group. As far as she was concerned, Skyclan had shown their true colors over and over again, they weren't worth her time.
The scent of another cat reached Birdsong's nose, and the ex-warrior paused atop a section of brick wall, green eyes peering into her decrepit surroundings.
