seven deadly kins introduction [open after kits post!]

The blessings of greenleaf promised many things... plenty of prey, warm weather, and kits. Thunderclan had been blessed with a litter of six whole young cats. Their vibrant personalities had just begun to blossom like the flower buds which had finally snapped open out in the forest. Given their youth, it was yet to be seen how they might one day shape the clan. Would their paws someday step into the role of leadership? Would they start conflicts with neighboring clans? Regardless, a proud she-cat watched from the shadows of the nursery as they padded into the clearing. Questions of their life direction could be answered later. For now, there was to be an exploration, and celebration.

ooc;; it's time :D your kits are a couple moons old in this topic, no squirmy kit birth topic. as mentioned, your parents are npcs so this is more of a starter topic to kick things off. i look forward to seeing all your kits grow!

Pricklekit had to be first. First in everything, really, but today it happened to be first out of the nursery, into the camp. Shoving aside his siblings (just a little shove) he bounded out into the clearing, looking eagerly around at this very big world. He had no idea what the dens were, but he wasn’t about to start poking his head into them to ask. He would be soph… sophist… whatever. He’d never admit that he didn’t quite remember the word.

Looking around, he discovered just the spot for a quick sunbathe, maybe groom his pelt a bit (it was getting slightly dusty, to his dismay) but decided to take advantage of it later. His exploration up until now had been silent, but now the kit yowled back to his siblings. “Come on! This place is pretty cool!” He looked around, hoping some older cat would come up to him… but not the younger apprentices. How some of them had become apprentices before him was a mystery. But now that he was allowed out in camp…

Something malicious stirred in the kit’s green eyes as he stared at the thorns protecting the nursery. His gaze shifted to the apprentice den, and something clicked in his head… but he was immediately distracted by a falling leaf. “Look guys! Look! A leaf!” Of course, there were leaves on the ground, but none of them were falling. Pricklekit sprung off his rock, pinning the leaf down with “expert” skill. Surely none of his siblings could beat that?

Tumblekit was barely awake. Sure, they were standing, but apart from that, there were next to no signs of life from them. They didn't even have the energy to yawn. Mom told them to go outside. They thought, anyway- they were still asleep at the time. They stood oddly still, eyes closed. Someone was leaving the nursery. Pricklekit? He took big steps, and he was bigger than everyone else. Tumblekit could hear it, it must be him. Tumblekit kind of wanted to see what he was up to, though their eyes remained near closed.

Seemingly on autopilot, the thick-limbed kit toddled out of the nursery with all the vigour of a particularly tired slug. Through their hazy vision, they could see Pricklekit hunting a leaf. How did he do that? Tumblekit was convinced that cats weren't meant to move that fast. They slowly waddled up to Pricklekit, eyes on the ground. Was this... hunting? They were relieved if it was. Catching mice sounded awfully strenuous. They reached out a chunky paw and captured a leaf beneath it. They blinked up at Pricklekit. "Is this... right?"

Applekit shook herself awake as the rays of dawn brushed across her closed eyes, and she heard her brother's beckoning call. There was a whole day in front of her, and she refused to let it go to waste. The tiny she-kit, smallest of her whole litter, bounced up out of the comfortable nest and followed her siblings outside, shaking out her soft tortoiseshell fur. She stretched, yawned, and blinked bright blue eyes, finally ready to face the day. It would be hers, just like everything else was. Or she'd make sure it was.

Her siblings were, of course, being idiots as usual. Pricklekit was showing off, and Tumblekit was... Tumblekit. She scoffed at their subpar displays of prowess, and an idea lighted in her head. Jumping on a leaf was nothing. Any kit straight from the womb could do that. "You wanna see some hunting?" she asked primly, eyes narrowing. "I'll show you some hunting." The she-kit dropped down into a crouch, slowly walking forward, her eyes on the lump of fur that was Tumblekit. Her tiny tail waved back and forth playfully. Then, she pounced, jumping atop her sibling with a victorious, high pitched yowl, and pinning them to the ground. She was still in a good mood, so her claws remained sheathed as she perched on top of the other kit. "Haha! How do you like that?"

Cherrykit sat in the soft moss of the nursery watching as her siblings explored the camp for the first time. Pricking her ears, she heard them talking abouting hunting and leaves. This intrigued her, so she got up and trotted out into camp, her ginger coat flashing in the morning sun. She glanced up at the dawn sky, when a leaf slowly fluttering into camp caught her eye. “I bet I could catch that leaf over there!” she yowled to her siblings. Cherrykit ran over to about where the leaf was and crouched down, ready to leap up. As the leaf got closer to ground, she pounced leaping into the air and catching it between her front paws. She landed and carefully brought the leaf over to her sibling. “Look at this leaf, isn’t it so pretty,” she mewed to her siblings.

Pheasantkit stretched her long body, giving her calico fur a quick brush. She hurried out of the nursery, not wanting to miss a second of socializing. Before her she saw her littermates, each doing something childish. Pricklekit swiftly pinning a falling leaf down, Cherrykit and Tumblekit following suit. Applekit leaped onto the sleepy Tumblekit, as an act of... Showing off? Although it seemed more like she just wanted to one up Pricklekit. The she-kit knew her brother wouldn't enjoy that, for sure. "Great catch Pricklekit, impressive move," she purred. How juvenile, she commented to herself.

She wanted to tell Applekit not to stomp on Tumblekit, but she would prefer not to make an enemy. And Tumblekit would be fine anyway, they were the biggest and Applekit was the smallest, not much harm could be done. Saying nothing to either of them, she took a few steps toward Cherrykit, observing the leaf she caught. "Indeed that is a beautiful leaf," she said with a smile. Inwardly she cringed a bit, how playful, how... Sweet? She didn't judge the kit too much, for she was one too, but something about her cheerfulness that made Pheasantkit want to slash her face. The tip of her tail twitched a bit. She gave Cherrykit a small nose touch and trotted off towards the fresh-kill pile.

She gently clutched a dead mouse in her black muzzle, carrying it back to the group. She looked around her siblings, searching for a place to relax. She settled on a spot quite near Pricklekit, only about a foxtail or two away. Pheasantkit sat down in a small pile of leaves, resting the prey at her feet. "What do we want to do first? Or where?" she asked her fellow kits as she began to clean her fur.

Sagekit was quiet as she watched her littermates and listened to their chirps and exclamations. Their excitement was directed toward a leaf... just a leaf, as if it was the first time any of them had ever seen one. She gave one of the green leaves near her paw a pointed look. Her mother had just finished grooming her, and now her little form was covered with the shiniest and cleanest fur out of all her littermates. It was true that she even held the title of best-kept pelt in the entire Clan. It made her heart swell and glow just thinking about it.

Surely it wouldn't be worth it to risk messing up her fur just to run after a leaf. The warmth of Greenleaf was also making her particularly unhappy. If it was up to her, she would've ordered all of her littermates to sit in the shade and have a quiet and tranquil conversation. She rolled her eyes in their direction before staring over at her littermates with a lack of interest in her expression.
"Why can't we just sit down and relax?" She asked, drawing her tongue over a tiny paw, "It's so hot outside. What if I start sweating?"

While Pricklekit was still glorying in his awesomeness, Tumblekit approached. And… did Tumblekit things. Pricklekit snorted. Loudly. Was that hunting? Ptcha, stars above no. Still. Tumblekit was dirt, really. “Not… precisely…” he mewed in a slightly patronizing tone. “You might want to… up your skills before apprenticeship.” And then, of course, the rest of his siblings would come tumbling out. Applekit, in particular, seemed to be showing off. Oh no she wouldn’t. The tom unsheathed his tiny claws, a growl building in the back of his throat. Who does she think she is? Luckily for those cats that didn’t want their peace disturbed by yowling kits and temper tantrums, Pheasantkit complimented Pricklekit in the nick of time. “It was nothing, Pheasantkit, anycat could do it,” Pricklekit mewed, his tone making it quite clear that no, not anycat could do it. Especially not Applekit. She thought she was better than him? Ptcha.

His tiny claws unsheathed again, but Pheasantkit’s mouse caught his attention. And so did Sagekit’s words. Most of his siblings were okay. Tumblekit could be boring, but at least he wasn’t better at anything. Pheasantkit was downright fun to be around most of the time. Cherrykit… existed. Applekit could be annoying, but it was all too easy and far too fun to poke her into anger. Sagekit, on the other paw, seemed to think herself better. Pricklekit had tried putting dirt in her nest numerous times, but Mother seemed to be onto him, so he stopped. However… playfighting was fun… and shoving Sagekit’s oh-so-pretty pelt in the dust was even more fun.

With a yowl, Pricklekit sprung off his rock and cannoned into Sagekit, knocking her into the dust. “Playfight!” He yowled, perhaps a bit belatedly. He hadn’t charged into Sagekit that hard, just hard enough to get her pelt in the dirt. Her ohsopretty pelt. Ptcha. Pricklekit was better any day. Right? Who liked Sagekit, anyways…

Tumblekit sighed in disappointment at Pricklekit's response. Why couldn't it be easy? When they were leader, they'd... They'd make all the prey stand still. Yeah. Then nobody would ever have to hunt again. Just when they were daydreaming about their leadership, Applekit came barreling into them. It didn't hurt really, but it winded the poor kit and they stared up at their sister in a daze. "Why would you..." Oh, it was no use. Applekit wouldn't take well to questions anyway, even if Tumblekit had felt like speaking. Instead, they just lay there, watching Pricklekit pounce on Sagekit. Surely Applekit would get off now? They weren't very interesting prey, maybe their sister would get bored. Then they could nap. In a feeble attempt to speed up the process, they gave Applekit a little kick with their hind legs. Nothing strong, but they were bigger than Applekit... They hoped she wasn't hurt. Tumblekit would regret it if she was.

Applekit was disappointed that her prey catch didn't seem to care that she was atop them. What had she been expecting, jumping on that slug, anyway? Annoyed, but not yet angry, she prepared to jump off, but then Tumblekit nudged her with a freakishly large paw. It ruffled her fur. Her pretty tortoiseshell fur. Ruffled by this great lump. She heard her siblings talking, but the words didn't even reach her ears. Everything went dim, and then... everything went red.

With a high pitched screech, far more serious and vengeful than the previous playful yowl, the she-kit opened her jaws and bit down with tiny, sharp teeth into her sibling's ear. Normally she wouldn't dream of actually hurting Tumblekit, as obnoxious and unfun as they were, but when she got angry, she couldn't control herself. Her body was actually shaking with rage, and her stormy gray eyes glittered with fury. No thought went through her head other than to fight, to maim, to cause someone else to feel the meltdown that consumed her. Her teeth weren't large enough to cause serious damage, but the bite was sure to hurt.

Cherrykit had been so focused on admiring her leaf, that she hadn’t noticed Pheasantkit walking up to her. Hearing hear comment startled her at first, but she quickly relaxed and purred back, “Thanks” Pheasantkit padded off, and Cherrykit looked around to see what everyone else was doing. Applekit was standing on top off Tumblekit, Sagekit was sitting off to the side, and Pricklekit was leaping towards her. A sudden screech made Cherrykit snap her head around to see what was happening. It turned out to be Applekit attacking Tumblekit. Hmm, looks like Tumblekit upset Applekit. I guess I should try to get Applekit away from them. Though, I wouldn’t want her to start attacking me. Maybe she won’t attack me if I just talk to her. With that she stood up and walked over to where Applekit and Tumblekit were. “Hey Applekit, don’t attack Tumblekit. I’m sure they didn’t do any bad enough to deserve you attacking them,” she meowed, hoping that Applekit had heard it.

Pheasantkit watched as Pricklekit bashed into Sagekit who had just come out of the den. She flicked her ears as he claimed a playfight. She quickly rose to her paws, her brain calculating who to attack. Before she could do anything else a screech pierced the air. Who was that? Was that Sagekit? She drew her attention to Applekit sinking her teeth into Tumblekit's ear. Pheasantkit's eyes widened, what in Starclan is she doing? What's even more weird was Cherrykit approaching the furious Applekit. The calico kit thought her sister was out of her mind, both of them for that matter. She ducked down and swiftly picked up her mouse, taking a few steps back and then quickly padding over to the nursery. She couldn't believe how quickly everything had erupted into chaos. Pheasantkit hung around the entrance and crouched down, just in case someone was to come at her. Instead of taking part in the mess she would rather stay out of harms way, wishing to keep her ears intact. Yet if one of them was to mess with her she wouldn't hesitate to rip their nose off.
