A Nice Hunt (Closed)

Waking up when the sun went down, the black and white she cat opened her eyes.  She stayed laying down for a little bit, even when awake.  She thought about what a joy her life was now, even if she didn't act like that.  It was definitely better than the Asylum, no questions asked.  Honestly, this was probably the happiest time of her life.  She went from alone in a rouge group that was lying to her to having a family, a nice clan, and a real life that was hers to choose.

Shira sighed, realizing she should probably get up.  She rose to her paws and walked out of the den.  She walked towards the edge of the camp.  She enjoyed hunting patrols.  It made her feel like she was doing something, not just for her, but for her clan as well.  She walked up to Foxspark, who she was going on the patrol with, and briefly twined her tail with his, before walking in front of him towards the exit.  "Are you ready to go?"  She asked.

Foxspark had been sitting at the edge of camp. He woke up early enough to see the sun set, something that he had never really seen in moons. Memories came flooding back, about when he first conversed with Shira in the sunset. He made a vow to her that night. One that he broke in the worst way possible. Why did he do that? Why did he do that? Nobody except for Shira knew the truth, and he was too cowardly to share it with anyone else. When Rookfire asked why the two of them came here, the ginger tom avoided the question to instead talk about how they were going to be loyal to ShadowClan to the very end. Though Rookfire's curiosity was satisfied with that answer, Foxspark could still feel the guilt of lying to the ShadowClan medicine cat.

Murkystrike had given him an apprentice recently, but it didn't make him a good cat. It made him feel worse. After all, he was the last cat deserving of having an apprentice. He betrayed a cat who trusted him. What could stop him from doing that again?

The guilt. Despite how terrible that it made him feel, the guilt also protected him and those that he cared about from another action similar to that. Noticing Shira twine her tail with his, he gave a smile. "Yeah, I'm ready." Standing up, the two cats padded out of the camp to go hunt.

Eventually, they arrived at a hunting spot where the two cats could hunt freely. Foxspark crouched down, searching for something to catch. Noticing a lizard crawling in the marsh, the ginger tom began stalking it. Perhaps hunting could distract his mind from the terrible feeling, at least temporarily.

Suddenly, a fox burst out of the marshes, its teeth baring at Foxspark. "Fox!" he shouted, letting his mate know that a fox had attacked him. Slashing at the fox, he dazed it just as Asylum taught him to do. He had taken down a fox before, and he could do it again, especially because his mate could help him.

Foxspark attempts to catch a lizard, costing 3 stamina.

Foxspark used Sanctum Strike on Fox, dealing 8 damage and costing 10 stamina. Fox is stunned for one turn.

Shira nodded as her mate responded.  She walked out first, but made her way to the side of Foxspark.  It was a nice and peaceful walk, even if there wasn't much talking.  The moon was up illuminating the sky, with the bright shimmering stars dotting all around it.  She was trying not to get too messy in the marsh.  She didn't like the wet feeling in her fur.  She should have gotten used to the wetness of the marsh but she just never quite liked it.

When they got to the hunting spot, Shira notice Foxspark go chase after a lizard.  Shira looked around to see if she could catch her own piece of prey.  She looked for a moment, having no luck with finding anything.  Then her ears went up as she heard her mate yell about a fox.  She turned and rushed back to Foxspark and eyed the fox.

Quickly, Shira leaped at the fox and pushed it to the ground for a moment tearing into it's skin, before getting up and taking a fighting stance.  She hissed at it and prepared to attack again.

Shira used Jumping Strike, dealing 10 in damage and using 7SP.
