Call for Blood [SkC vs WC]

Ravenclaw could feel her body struggling to keep upright. The two cats fighting her were too much for even her to deal with. All around her she caught glimpses of her fellow SkyClanners either knocked out or on the run. 'No... This can't be the end.' Even as her legs shook, she forced herself towards the newer WindClan cat. She had to defeat them both. Defeat them all. Their treachery... Them spitting in the face of SkyClan... She couldn't allow it to end like this. Stumbling towards the other WindClanner, she snapped at his side, putting as much power as her body had left behind it.

Another cat - Goldenfang - rushed into battle, allowing Shrikestorm a moment to look around. It was clear that they by far had the advantage, as the amount of standing SkyClan cats was minimal. He could see Wolfstar, but besides the proud leader, there wasn't much else. That was good: WindClan was going to win for sure. He only wished it could've ended differently. If Lilacstar had listened to reason before, they could've taken Dawnhawk back to SkyClan, where he could be punished for what he had done. In the end Dawnhawk was gone, and WindClan was to win this battle. While he could wish for a different journey, the destination was one he couldn't complain about.

"I don't," he replied truthfully, but anything more he could've - or wanted - to say would have to be held back. Goldenfang was in the battle, and he wasn't sure she wouldn't just trot off to Lilacstar saying that he was giving information to the enemy. Which he was, but it was pertinent information. While he continued to fight with everything he had, claws out to slash at his opponent, he made sure to avoid hitting anywhere where it could really deal damage. Again, even in battle he wasn't there to take lives. If they could be spared, he would spare them.

Muddyleap pulled away from Wolfstar as the leader stumbled away, chest heaving as he turned to look at his sister with wide eyes. Had they...Done it? Part of him could hope, sparing a terrified glance at all the fallen cats that littered the WindClan camp. There were only a few cats still standing as he tried to make out the pelts, feeling a stab of worry for his family. He could hear his sister try to speak to the leader - then there was a yowl - Wolfstar was back into the fight as he swept past them to attack the now standing WindClan leader. He stumbled backwards in surprise, eyes widening as he caught his sister's look as she spun to chase after the leader. "Sunnyskip!" he gasped, before he spared a glance at the still standing cats, then back to where Wolfstar was fighting with Lilacstar. Ivystar was right there and... "I-I'm going to go find dad! St-Stay safe, sis!" he shouted to her before he spun, racing through the camp as he tried to locate Fawnstep - eyes nervously scanning the downed cats until he saw that his father was still fighting, with Silverlight at his side no less. "Leave my family alone!" He yowled as he slide to a stop next to the SkyClan she-cat, raking his claws down her side.

The SkyClanner was falling. How quickly they were beginning to stumble out of camp! Looking around, Ryesnap suddenly felt Lilacstar had been foolish for entering an alliance with RiverClan in the first place... this battle had been won from the start. They were just too quick on their paws. Ryesnap felt more fleet-footed now than he ever had running the moors before. The thrill of victory was already blossoming, making him feel lightheaded and michevious. As soon as the blind cat was no longer a clear threat, Ryesnap rounded on Tawnyflare herself and prodded her right in the foxfur-lined chest with a paw.

"What? No 'thank you,' Tawnyfox?" he snorted playfully, his lips peeling back in a sneer. "Why're you always treating me like a kit when you barely act like a cat?"

Though he was only teasing, he was riding high on the heat of combat, and was losing control of whatever scarce inhibitions he usually had. His aggravation found a new target in this new foe, and his tone was nothing short of a challenge. Having no understanding of the pelt's dark and infamous connotation, Ryesnap was happy to jeer at her for it. He wasn't sure what kind of face Tawnyflare was making under her mask, but as his joke landed in a nearly-audible thump, the young warrior was suddenly aware that he had made some kind of mistake.

Behind her mask, Tawnyflare narrowed her eyes at the tom who dared to taunt her. "Why do I hardly act like a cat? I should have you know that I may be born of WindClan blood, but I was raised by Asylum's paws. The same group that was able to take down the entirety of the 5 Clans in this forest. They couldn't even be beaten until they managed to get a small amount of them alone! And we were not raised as cats, we were raised as the predators in which we wore. Beasts that we had killed with our own claws."

Leaping forward, Tawnyflare rammed into Ryesnap, slamming him down and holding his head to the ground with her paw. "I am trained in battle in ways no Clan cat is capable of. That is how I was able to slit the throat of the RiverClan warrior, Shrikefrost, before he could barely blink an eye. I would suggest you show a little more respect to me, kit, as you have a lot more to fear from this fox than you realize. There is a reason cats choose not to cross me."

Now it was Tawnyflare's turn to sneer as she held the tom down, malice in her gaze. She wouldn't kill him, no. After all, the kit was an ally, and she was sure that would be rather shameful. But it seemed some lessons needed to be taught within this Clan, and Ryesnap would be made the perfect example. The calico was a lot more than just harsh words, she could just as easily back them up.

Lilacstar gasped, exasperated, as she felt Wolfstar crash into her. She wasn't sure how much more of this she could take, she was growing worn out. "Have you not had enough Wolfstar? Look around you. There has been enough carnage on both sides, what more can you want? This won't make Dawnhawk magically appear, he is gone, nothing can change that. Look, I may not fully understand what Dawnhawk did to you, a lot of that information I feel has been withheld, but in his time here, while he was disguised, he had done no harm. The only damage caused was from your paws. Including any injury your Clan goes home with. That blood is on you, Wolfstar. But you can prevent more bloodshed as well. Go home. There is no more reason to continue this dispute. You have sent your message, it is over."

Pushing the other leader away from her, Lilacstar clawed at his fur. She was growing tired of this game, and she just wanted to curl up in her nest at this point. Let it all end so everyone could go on with their lives. "Think with your head instead of being so rash, Wolfstar. There is nothing left to gain. The past cannot be changed. Do you truly want to risk lives over it? Are all of these cats really worth the life of one?"

It was a major change from the way she had spoken with the deputy, true. But she honestly had no more fight in her at this point. And she was sure SkyClan could not go on forever, either.

The tom informed Ashstorm that he had no other information to offer her, to which she just nodded.  She believed him.  He had been helpful at least.  He seemed to have more knowledge on this matter than the other Skyclan cats.  She learned more in talking than fighting.  "Okay, well, thanks," she said, not really knowing what else she could say.  The newer cat left to go to what Ashstorm was pretty sure was the medicine cat or something, from injuries or from just realizing that Shrikestorm was doing fine Ashstom wasn't sure.  Still, she was happy that the other cat wasn't there to make her hurt worse.

Ashstorm, not really trying to hurt them too much, but trying not to get hurt herself, grabbed on to the other cats scruff and shook it.  She mostly just wanted to stop having the other cats fight her, but she realized that wouldn't happen until the other cat couldn't fight.

Wolfstar snarled, backing away from Lilacstar and standing with his head down, tail lashing back and forth. Then Sunnyskip slammed into him again, and, maddened, he turned to bare his teeth at her, looking between the she-cats with fire in his eyes. "Lilacstar, has anyone ever told you, you talk too much?" he snapped. "Next time, lead with the monologue and you just might bore me to death before the battle even starts."

His ears plastered against his head, Wolfstar glanced to the side, where Bloodstrike lay, motionless. Keeping his eyes on his opponents, he stepped sideways, until he was standing over the deputy's body, and lowered his nose to nudge him gently, and ensure he was still breathing. Satisfied, the dark tom flicked his gaze to Beechface. There were so few SkyClanners still standing, and though most of the remaining Wind-and-RiverClan cats looked a stiff breeze away from collapsing, Wolfstar wasn't stupid. This wasn't a battle that they could win - any more than they already had, at least.

Tiredness tugged at his limbs, begged him to find a nest to crawl into. This was over. Wolfstar rasped his tongue across Bloodstrike's forehead, trying to rouse the scarred tom. "Come along, son. We've proven our point. Let's go home." Another flurry of movement drew his attention to Ashstorm, and Wolfstar lifted his voice to call out to her, gently, as well. "Ashstorm, that's enough, we're done here."

Wolfstar does not attack this turn. He can still be attacked, but appears to be disengaging.

"No," Ravenclaw gasped, her legs buckling beneath her. She collapsed, surrounded by the WindClan cats fighting her. Perhaps she should take it as a compliment that WindClan needed three warriors to defeat her, but losing didn't bring her any comfort. Every fiber of her being told her to stand up and fight, but the proud warrior had no strength left. The best she could do was run: the action of lifting a paw would cause her to collapse again, and she was no good to SkyClan dead. They should have won... Glaring at the three WindClanners, she pushed herself back onto her feet, as much as her body begged her to lay back down. "Your protection of Dawnhawk will not be forgotten," she spat, but that was the most violent thing she could do. As much as she didn't want to, she turned tail and ran, which allowed her to pass by Wolfstar. That's when she heard the true, terrible confirmation: it was over. Gritting her teeth, she continued running, leaving the sight of battle.

Ravenclaw has left the field of play.

Shrikestorm let out a groan as the SkyClanner shook him, keeping him from attacking. That seemed to be a hollow victory, as he heard the voice of Wolfstar drift over. Ashstorm... That must be the cat he was fighting, then. As he stood dazed in front of Ashstorm, he was at least able to speak to her. "Go. Continuing this fight is pointless. There will be anger, but... if you are looking for Dawnhawk, look to the other clans. He may be sheltering there now." It sounded wrong of him to wish for such a thing, but from what Dawnhawk had outright admitted to, he did hope that SkyClan was able to find him. They deserved to punish him for what he had done. But... they had started a battle on WindClan territory, against him and his fellow clan members. That meant that what they got in this defeat was deserved as well.

Shrikestorm does not attack, allowing Ashstorm to run if wished.

"Ack-!" Ryesnap gasped as his clanmate... his own clanmate!... slammed him to the ground beneath her foxlike claws. The tom struggled against her iron grip, shaking and twisting his shoulders as far as they would bend. He was not very malleable, and his creeping exhaustion made him slower. "What's wrong with you?! You're nuts! You're throwing the whole battle!"

Overwhelmed with frustration, Ryesnap's breaths became garbled with spit and the dirt that was pressed onto his fangs. He looked around for help. Lilacstar could not abet him. She didn't even see the transgression from her place, with her eyes fixed vigilantly upon crooked Wolfstar. He hissed, "Get 'er offa me!" and struggled a final time, hoping for give when he twisted his chin jarringly. Yes!

The tom burst up and swiped weakly at her eyes as he rolled her off, ragged huffs dominating his voice. "You're the worst."

Tawnyflare could not help but laugh. "Throwing the battle? We've already won this thing." Barely flinching as Ryesnap clawed at her (her eyes are covered by the pelt after all), the calico she-cat let out a huff, backing away. "Maybe now you will learn not to cross me. I have grown to be quite irritated with you and your arrogance. Be thankful you are a Clanmate, you could have gotten hurt a lot worse than this."

Wolfstar was calling off his warriors now, and a grin made its way to her maw. Cowards, running away. She barely even had a scratch, Ryesnap's feeble attempts had done more damage than any SkyClan cat had done. Speaking of Ryesnap, he was still talking? Saying something like how bad she was or something, she really didn't care though. "If daddy hadn't run away, he could tell you I don't make empty threats. So I will tell you now, shut up, you whining is getting on my nerves."

Tawnyflare is not attacking this turn, allowing Ryesnap to go crying to mommy if he wants.

Tawnyflare was stalling, giving him a chance to flee. Not Ryesnap.

"Take that dumb pelt off and face me like a warrior!" Ryesnap yowled. He wiped a trail of bloody crimson from his left shoulder, dragging the substance down like war paint. That blood was Sunnyskip's. It pulsed with the sweet honeyblossom scent of the moors. Any other mutation, he could reject, and did reject now. "You're pathetic. You're weak, so you gotta take out all your filthy rogue impulses on a cat that's smaller than you. You only care about WindClan as far as we can feed you. You even dragged your son into it. When you die, StarClan's gonna laugh right in your stupid face. And you just keep going."

Huffing, Ryesnap prepared himself for whatever would come next. "Seems like I'm the only cat who's ever gonna challenge you. Fine. I know you'll win. I don't care. Show our whole clan how much of a clanless coward you are, and beat me."

Tawnyflare was too much of an idiot to relent, and too much of a narcissist to let him walk away scot-free. He waited, swaying on his legs to the rhythm of his own beating heart.

Ryesnap does not attack.

After losing her fight with Yarrowpaw, Spottedpaw had retreated, panting and shivering with a mixture of adrenaline and pain. Her pelt was rent with scratches and she was exhausted to the bone, but she hadn't left. Instead, she'd lingered around the edge of the camp, waiting for something to happen... and eventually, it did. Wolfstar called for them to come, and said that they were leaving. Spottedpaw couldn't help but let her shoulders sag in relief. She just wanted to sleep.

Making her way through the camp, towards her leader, Spottedpaw passed two fighting cats, and as they broke away to argue, a curious glance revealed that they were... both... WindClan?

Spottedpaw stopped in her tracks, brow furrowed. Before she could help herself, or question the wisdom of what she was about to do, she spoke up. "I thought MY family was messed up... but you two can't even keep it together long enough to defend your own camp." A disapproving stare followed, probably humorous coming from a cat half their size, and then she turned away, "No wonder you guys needed RiverClan's help."

And then she moved over to follow her clanmates.
