The hawk continued to struggle, and while it was noticeably much weaker now from blood loss and the blows that warrior and apprentice had inflicted, it finally managed to dislodge Birdsong's hold. Nightpaw, though she originally hadn't wanted him to join in the fighting, was doing well and seemed to have a handle on himself for now. They'd have to spar and she'd have to show him proper techniques later, but Birdsong was confident that they could put away the hawk without much issue.
"Be ready to move if it tries to catch you with talons." She told her apprentice, rearing up and bringing her front paws down between the hawk's wings. The bird was much more sluggish in trying to get up from that, but Birdsong still wanted to get this over with.
Hawk is no longer Teeth Gripped. Birdsong used Upright Lock for -25 sp, dealing -14 damage.

As the hawk moved less and less, Nightpaw found himself readjusting his footing. Obviously, the hawk was still a danger, but they had it under control enough that he could prevent himself from falling over! He couldn't help but wish they had gone over fighting, despite balking at the prospect before. At Birdsong's words, Nightpaw snapped his ears toward her, tightening his jaw. "O-okay!" His response was stuttered, partially due to the adrenalin, and partially due to nerves. He noted that the hawk was no longer held, but rather struck down by his mentor. Though it was getting back up! He could only hope that they could strike it down before it could strike back!
With his front paw, Nightpaw slashed with all his might at the hawk's face, ripping into it partially. Multiple areas of the hawk were reddened by their combined attacks, and every time it got slower. The apprentice backed up slightly, getting ready to try to avoid those talons. They were sharp, and Nightpaw wanted to heed his mentor's advice.
Nightpaw used Front Paw Strike, dealing 6 damage and using 10 stamina!

Birdsong took another swipe at the hawk as it struggled to regain some semblance of balance, and was mostly just relieved that the fight was over with as the bird crumpled beneath her paw and didn't move.
"Are you alright?" She turned to Nightpaw, looking the apprentice over for signs of injury. He looked more shaken than anything, but she still felt the need to ask anyways. Heart still racing from adrenaline, she was ignoring her own wounds for the moment, though that wouldn't be able to last much longer. If Nightpaw wanted to head back to camp, Birdsong wouldn't try to change his mind on the matter.
Birdsong used Front Paw Strike on Hawk for -10 sp, dealing -11 damage.
