Turtlefur deposited his prey into the stash as well. He sympathized with Cloverpaw. Hunting sometimes felt more like it was about luck rather than skill and everyone struggled from time to time. ”He’s right. I remember trying to fish for the first time, it was a disaster...” He trailed off - not because he didn’t know what else to say, but because there was a strange chirping noise that was getting closer. His ears swiveled until he realized the odd noise was coming from the trees behind him. Just as Turtlefur was turning, a flash of brown and white darted at his hind leg, hissing and screeching with pure hate. The warrior hopped and kicked instinctively while his fluffy half-tail lifted high in the air to avoid getting bit.

His back kick missed, but he got a good view of the thing while he’d sprang away: a weasel with an ugly snarl on its tiny face. That made sense, as weasels were full of an inexplicable rage.

Weasel used Gripping Bite on Turtlefur, using 30 SP.

Despite her visible disappointment, the encouragement from her Clanmates helped Cloverpaw perk up a bit. She gave them both a smile and was about to agree to Bearspirit's offer when she noticed Turtlefur seemed.. distracted. There was a strange sound she didn't recognize, the sound of rustling, and then the weasel exploded into view and barrled for Turtlefur, teeth bared.

A wave of panic washed over her, and for a moment she felt rooted in place, but then the realization that her Clanmate was being attacked dawned on her and she rushed forward. With a snarl, she unsheathed her claws and struck out at the assailant, earning a furious hiss in return.

Cloverpaw used Front Paw Strike! It dealt 6 Damage and cost 10 SP.

Bearspirit's ear swiveled towards the chittering noise. Something about it made his fur bristle, but he didn't completely know why until a weasel leaped out to try to attack Turtlefur. Cloverpaw attacked first, which only sent a fresh adrenaline surge through Bearspirit's veins. He couldn't let them be hurt, neither of them. The young tom absolutely refused to let anymore family members die, even if clanmates weren't exactly blood related. He was just a kit when he couldn't save his real family... but now he was an adult. He was stronger than he appeared to be, despite his gawky limbs and massive paws. His claws were sharp and his teeth sharper still. More importantly... he knew how to use them now.

A deep yowl bellowed from Bearspirit's throat as he leaped up and then dropped down onto the weasel. His teeth went straight for the back of the predator's head in an attempted execution and his claws slashed furiously at every vital area that he could. No warning, no words of mercy beforehand... Just a level of fury sent from the stars themselves in defense of his clanmates.

Turtlefur recovered from the shock relatively quickly, but Bearspirit’s guttural howl startled him once more. The weasel was trapped under his claws and the back of its neck was beginning to bleed heavily from the vicious bite. It struggled and hissed like a supernatural creature, but the other tom’s grip was solid. It wouldn’t be going anywhere.

With Bearspirit’s strength and Cloverpaw’s support he felt safe enough to stand high on his hind legs and bring his full weight down on the weasel’s head and shoulders; it was a devastating blow despite Turtlefur’s small size. The weasel shrieked and wriggled like a worm but was unable to free itself.

The weasel is stunned for one more turn.
