A familiar face [closed]

Stag lifted his eyes from his paws as he walked through the forest, a light-hearted sigh escaping his maw. He had finally started to get used to Thunderclan life, training as an apprentice, and adapting to the camp's rules. He felt happy, but deep down he knew that this wasn't where he was supposed to be. Breaking from his thoughts, he jumped over a rotting log that stood in his way, landing safely on the other side before trying to return to his thoughts. What was he thinking about again? With a slight shake of his head, he continued along the path, soon arriving to where he was to patrol the border. Although he knew he was close by smell alone, he only sped his pace when the large black path appeared between the trees. He approached the thunderpath, sticking his nose close to it's pitch surface. Suddenly, a deep rumbling shook the ground around him and he darted away from the thunderpath just in time for a bright blue shiny monster to roar by. Breathing quickened and eyes wide he backed further away. No matter how often he patrolled the thunderpath, the monsters never failed to scare him, and he never failed to stay far enough away.

After taking a moment to recover, he walked along the border, a safe distance away from the thunderpath. Remembering what it was he needed to do he lifted his nose into the air to find out if any scents rose above the thunderpath's stench. Before he could pick up a scent, something caught his eye from across the path. Without thinking, he called out. "Hello? Who's there?" His voice held no aggression or ill intention. If anything, it sounded worried. Straining his neck, he tried to catch a better glimpse of the cat across the path, but to his disappointment he couldn't find a better view.

Ebonysong was patrolling by the borders and had finally arrived at the Thunderpath. The stench of the monsters and the Thunderpath itself made the gray she-cat cringe. A blue monster flew across the Thunderpath, making Ebonysong instinctively take a step back. Something else caught her eye as the monster flashed by, and Ebonysong smelled a hint of ThunderClan. Then, there was a voice. Frosty-blue eyes widening at the familiarity of the voice, Ebonysong called back. "Hello...? I'm Ebonysong, of ShadowClan. May I ask...who are you again?" She couldn't pinpoint who this ThunderClanner was exactly, but she knew that she had heard that voice somewhere...possibly a long time ago.

Pleased to hear that the other cat didn't seem to be aggressive either, he let out a breath that he didn't know he was holding. Something about the voice that called out gave him chills, it was almost familiar. He had probably just heard them at a gathering or something. With a shrug of his shoulders, he called out again, waiting until no monsters were screeching past. "I'm Stag, i'm a Thunderclan apprentice. Nice to meet you, Ebonysong." He looked across the path again, finally catching sight of the she-cat. He couldn't say that he remembered who she was but, like her voice, something was familiar about her appearance. Again, without thinking he blurted out, "Would it be alright if i cross?" He immediately realized what he said and turned his head away, fully expecting to be denied. What was he thinking! Who in their right mind would allow another cat into their territory? Still, if she didn't deny him he would still cross. He was too curious to just walk away.
