One down, one to go. Bloodstrike climbed the leader's den again, and once again, thought about somewhere else to start having clan meetings. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather for a clan meeting!" He called out across camp. And then he sat, wondering if Wolfstar would eventually want to help him find a different spot. Some of the clan meetings were fairly early and a cranky clan leader was less than desirable on most days.
Burrkit would never admit it, but he missed Cherry... paw’s presence in the nursery. As much as he thought the older ginger tom didn’t have two sticks to rub together, he at least understood the same excitable energy they both had.
He wasn’t that much younger than Cherrypaw, so he wondered to himself if perhaps this would be the moment.
Burrkit looked up, a weird serenity filling him, sensing the possibility that this would be his time to shine.

"Burrkit step forward. You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From today until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Burrpaw. Birdsong will be your mentor." Bloodstrike nodded at Birdsong in the crowd and went quiet so that mentor and apprentice could get acquainted.
Birdsong's ears pricked as she heard Bloodstrike call for a clan meeting . He sounded (and looked) better than the last time she'd interacted with him, and she padded towards the gathering cats to sit, fluffy tail wrapping around her paws.
The newly-named warrior blinked in surprise at being named Burrkit's mentor, though her expression quickly morphed into a smile as she approached the new apprentice to touch noses.
"Congratulations, Burrpaw. We'll start training today." There was plenty of daylight left to show Burrpaw around the territory, and maybe teach him the basics of hunting, as well.
