The Siblings’ Sad Destiny [Closed]

"Le-Lexine," was the only sound that Alois managed to make as teeth met his throat, the pure pain that followed causing him to go limp even under the force of the much smaller tom. He raised a paw weakly toward his sister, but she was to busy with her battle to notice as he went limp and the life was snuffed from him.


Lexine truly didn't realize what had happened until the rich, heavy scent of blood hit her nose and Fawnstep's voice rose up. Within an instance, her assault on Zinna had ceased as she spun to see her beloved brother dead and a scrawny WindClan cat coated in his blood. "ALOIS!" she screeched, claws digging into the ground as she got ready to make a leap before something within her caused her to stop. A Nightstriker never hunts alone. She....She was alone. Perhaps her brother and her could handle this weak-hearted group but now...No, she knew better than this. Her wide, orange eyes landed on her brother's limp frame as her chest heaved - barely containing the anger that burned within her. "...Run," she snarled, racing forward and smacking Fawnstep away - but with no claws. She spun to bare down on the apprentice that still clung to her brother's frame, teeth bared. "RUN! ALL OF YOU! Y-You...Nobody was going to die, you stupid, stupid cats! You don't know what you have done!" she howled, tail lashing as she spun to glare at the WindClan cats. "Flee, run back to your Clan while it still stands. We will not stand for...For this! We weren't going to kill you - can't you cats enjoy a simple spar?" She bit back a haunted laugh, eyes burning with hatred as her eyes fixed onto Fawnstep. "You thought we were harsh before? You know nothing of our fury. We'll be coming for you, killer - say goodbye to your loved ones while you still can. ...Now go. See if you can live with the blood that will be spilled in retaliation."

It was all Brookpaw could do to make a startled squeak noise as she stared at Alois' body.

Fawnstep... He'd killed him! Horror flashed in her eyes, and she couldn't take them off of the dead cat's body. As Lexine snapped at her, Brookpaw attempted to scramble away, one foot giving out and she stumbled backwards, afraid but unable to run. Her fear rooted her paws to the ground and the apprentice didn't know what to do. She'd never been this close to death before and it was scary.

They had overstepped, infuriated the already furious WindClan cats - and yet she was shocked and angry, this Nightstriker, when they retaliated. What had she expected? Just because they didn't care to spill blood, this time. How were they to know, when they'd done just that countless times before? They were meant to take Asylum at their word?

(She almost wanted to laugh. There was no time.)

Gently, she nudged Brookpaw. It was true that she wasn't her apprentice, but she wouldn't let any of them be left behind; especially not one so young and comparatively inexperienced. Technicalities didn't matter now. "We have to go. Run with the wind, until it carries you home."

And in her next breath she did just that, becoming one with the wind as much as any moor-runner, though she couldn't help calling over her shoulder. "Do you still think us soft? Think yourself worthy if you wish it, it won't make you so."

"It was your fault for attacking us!" Downtuft growled, taking a cautious step back. awnstepmaye strayed  bit far in killing him, but causing unprovoked fights will only bring death. What did you expect to happen? They we'd ust surrender? Let you attack us?" As Lexine growled at Brookpaw, Downtuft started forward but Zinnia was faster, reaching his apprentice first. "She's right Brookpaw, run. Don't stop until you reach camp and when you do I want you headed straight to Smallbean and Softbreeze!" Downtuft ordered, waiting until Brookpaw took off to follow after her, Zinnia, and Fawnstep.
