Gingerkit and Slatekit's Apprentice Ceremony

With every litter, there always came a lot of new kits to apprentice. Funny how it worked out like that. Minkstream moved forward to the High Rock to start the ceremony off for the third time in as many days. Two at once, this time. Shouldn't be bending the ceremony too much. The kits would most likely be okay with it. It had happened a couple other times, he was sure. Probably.

Leaping to the top of the rock and throwing a pointed glare at a curious shadowed pelt-wearer glancing up, he opened his maw and called, "Let every cat old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the High Rock for a Clan meeting!"

Gingerkit padded out of the nursery after having been groomed by her mother. She was so excited! She was going to be made an apprentice and to make it even better alongside one of her best friends! She quickly padded towards the High Rock and sat beneath it awaiting for her ceremony to start.

Slatekit hurried out of the nursery plucking some gorse from her fur eager to catch up to Gingerkit. Today was the day! Today was the day she became an apprentice and you could tell how excited she was. She felt as if she was vibrating with excitement but in reality she stood still excitement gleaming in her eyes. She quickly padded up to the High Rock and took a seat beside Gingerkit. They exchanged excited glances before looking back up at Minkstream.

Emberpaw padded out of the apprentice den to see his best friend and sister having their ceremony. He smiled as he padded towards them. The brown tom licked both their heads before sitting next to slatekit, maybe a little to close. Emberpaw was excited for them to become apprentices and join him in the apprentice den, maybe they could also share training times. He looked up at minkstream waiting to see who their mentors are.

Minkstream watched them come out, excited as kits always were, despite the circumstances they were growing up in. Though... it wasn't like they'd ever known anything else. The unpleasant thought swirled through his head for a moment as he opened his maw again and called them forward.

"Slatekit, Gingerkit, step forward."

When they'd done so, still looking up at him eagerly, their young eyes shining, he continued, "You two have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to learn the ways of the Clan as apprentices. From this moment on until you earn your warrior names, you will take on the names of apprentices." StarClan he was having to do strange things with the wording for this. I think there's a reason we usually stick with single kit ceremonies.... He didn't want to imagine what would happen if he tried to do the whole litter all at once.... "Slatekit, you will be known as Slatepaw. Gingerkit, you will be known as Gingerpaw. Your mentor will be Quaildock. He will train both of you well."

He leapt down, calling their names with the rest of the Clan. Hopefully his son would do alright with two at once, for his first mentorship. Hope I haven't just thrown him into the dog's den. If it looked like he was having a tough time of it, Minkstream would offer to help, no questions asked, but he had a feeling the tom would do fine. Despite the vague niggle of worry in the pit of his stomach. He's not a kit anymore - he'll do great.

Gingerpaw beamed at Emberpaw. She was finally able to join her brother in the den! Turning to her mentor she gently touched noses with him.

Slatepaw grinned and touched noses with their mentor and then nuzzled Emberpaw. She was so glad to finally be able to join Emberpaw in the apprentices den.

An apprentice was the last thing on Quaildock's mind. Less so for two.

Quaildock had been eyeing the Asylum cats, when he heard his name called by his father. He lifted his head up and softly realized, that he had an apprentice. Two of them in fact. He padded up to them and touched noses with the two. "Your training starts tomorrow." He meowed to them, before glancing towards his father with 'Why?' look on his face. He then turned his head back to his new apprentices and smiled.

Emberpaw smiled at the now named two giving each a lick before letting them talk to their mentor. "When you guys ready i can show you the apprentice den!" he mewed with a smile.
