Murkykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all of ShadowClan gather in the shadow of the Jaggedrock!" Flintstar stood tall on top of the Jaggedrock, eyes sweeping over the camp as he waited for his Clan to respond to his call. It wasn't like him to do apprentice ceremonies but...Well, he needed to work on getting to know his Clanmates a tad more so he had offered to take over this one at least for Ravenmist. To be a...Little more active in the life of his Clan - to work up the courage to actually get to know them. Ceremonies weren't much for how important they were to their daily lives, but it was still a start and Freckleface always did say he should take kit steps if he wanted to be better at this whole...Socializing thing.

Murkykit padded out of the nursery, her pelt having been meticulously groomed by her mother in preparation. The kits had not been found yet, and it felt... Odd, to think about becoming an apprentice while they were still missing. But as an apprentice she would be able to help the search more. As she cast a glance around at the other gathered cats, she wondered which warrior would become her mentor.

At the sight of the kit, Flintstar sighed softly. Doing this ceremony only served as a reminder of what ShadowClan had lost - still no signs of their missing kits. It was...Worrying some and he still had patrols out daily to try to find any traces but every attempt seemed futile. But life had to go on - they had to move forward. And a ceremony would only be a symbol of that. "Murkykit, please step forward," he meowed, beckoning the kit with his tail. "Murkykit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Murkypaw.. Your mentor will be Tulipfang. I hope Tulipfang will pass down all she knows on to you."

Murkykit stepped forward as she was called, gazing up at Flintstar as he spoke to her and the clan. Nodding as he presented her with her new name, she turned to see where Tulipfang was, thick fur moving with the cold wind as she prepared herself to greet her mentor.

Hearing her name called, Tulipfang made her way to the front of the crowd with a smile on her muzzle. Finding her way to her new apprentice, she gave a dip of greeting before lowering her head to touch the young she-cat's nose. "I look forward to training with you," the fluffy white and ginger warrior mewed lightheartedly.

Lowering her head swiftly in response, Murkypaw reached her nose up to Tulipfang's in return. "I look forward to learning all you have to teach me." Pulling back after the gesture, her eyes searched the crowd for her parents, sitting off to the side. She was officially an apprentice!
