In the dead of a bone-achingly chilly, rainy night, a nest among the rest of SkyClan lay abandoned, barren and cold to the touch. Spottedstar scent still clung to the reeds that comprised the resting place, but it was stale. Too stale. The scent leads out of RiverClan's camp, towards the gorge. No medicine cats have been informed of an impromptu trip to the Moonstone, but it is possible. The scent trail is broken in the open moors, the wind and rain disguising the stale scent as it erases any trace of the leader. Searching yields nothing, and Spottedstar is nowhere to be found. The tom has disappeared into the night, seemingly never to return.

Left without a leader, Wolfcall is turned to. As deputy, he is expected to step forward into Spottedstar's place. With the disappearance of their leader in an already tumultuous time, how will SkyClan react? What does the future hold for the clan? Only time will tell.
