Prancing for Dinner [OPEN Patrol]

Light feet traipsed the moors, chasing the chilly Leaffall breeze. Deerhawk hadn't felt this young in moons. He could hardly contain himself! The senior warrior practically danced around the rabbit warrens as he sniffed, searching for something worthy of his mate Heatherrain. He felt so stupidly giddy, his long tail lashing in excitement every few moments, so full of energy he thought the sun itself was willing him to move. He could almost hear Finchstar and Barleytuft teasing him up in StarClan for acting like this; acting ten seasons younger from hearing only a few words. The cold wind had no effect on his warm heart.

'I'm going to be a dad.' The lovely calico had told him so.

Every moment he struggled to contain a goofy grin. To most of his Clanmates, this change in attitude was a near-180 from the usually calm, collected, and serious tomcat familiar to them. In fact, he couldn't recount any other time he'd felt or acted this way. Ever. This pure... joy was absolutely foreign to him. But it still quickened his step. He hardly noticed the rest of the patrol falling behind in his mission to find just the right thing for her.

Goldengale was perched on a small mound not far away, watching the toms unusual behavior as he practically pirouetted as he turned to traipse further away from the rest of the patrol. With an amused twitch of her whiskers, she motioned to the rest of the group, pointing out the figure that was swiftly getting farther away. Once she was certain they had seen her signal, she stepped into the grasses that tickled her belly, opening her senses to the terrain around. Hopefully they would find something good to take home... And she could share it with Grousefrost.

Spotlake padded towards the two older cats, waving her tail in hello. It had been a while since she last hunted with Goldengale and she wanted to get to know Deerhawk more, so it would be a good experiance.
