Talking to Mistpelt

Mistpelt mrrowed with a little laugh at the kit. She noticed Bluestar enter, flicked her tail in greeting, and continued on. "Since he had me pinned, he got a good swipe at my flank. The bleeding was mostly superficial, and it didn't hurt me much, since his claws were always so sharp. The cut was long, however, and the mentor of a third apprentice, who had been training us, thought I was in serious danger. Far from joining StarClan, I dashed off into the reeds and along the river, very upset that the other apprentice had attacked me."

Pinespirit's eyes twinkled with amusement as she heard the story as she approached. She sat next to her mate and kit and smiled at the retired warrior. "You're quite the story-teller, eh, Mistpelt?" She nuzzled her kit and looked back up.

IC: Bluestar leaned in, ears pricked. It was rare for Mistpelt to tell stories, but great StarClan, did she tell them well.

When i'm an elder, i'm going to tell about the time I was defending RiverClan from ThunderClan. Everyone was a big help.. Pinespirit thought, her mind soaring. She blinked back into conciousness. "Do you have any stories, Bluestar?" she mewed. Weedkit sure loved stories.

Bluestar blinked out of her daydream. "Oh, yes! Um.. What type of story do you want Weedkit?" She asked, getting comfortable.

"I want a story about when you were a kit with Mistyriver" Weedkit mewed

"He just loves stories of when the warriors were kits" Mudpuddle meowed.

Bluestar nodded thoughtfully. "When Mistyriver and I were kits, about 4 moons, we snuck out of camp. We run to the river, following the scents and smells. But when we reached the river...." She left it on an edge.

Mudpuddle listened to her story.

Her eyes lit micheviously. "A smelt something like crowfood, but worse. Then all of a sudden, a badger lumbered out and attacked us!"

Mudpuddle's eyes widened in amazement

"It had me Mistyriver, Mistykit at the time, pinned down. I jumpd up and ripped half it's ear off!" She bit the air dramatically. "Then it released it's grip in Mistykit, and we attacked it more! And then it ran all the way into ThunderClan territory." She finished.

"Cool", Mudpuddle meowed. "Weedkit did you like it"

"I loved it, I LOVE all stories" Weedkit squeked with joy.

Pinespirit purred. "What a gripping story," she mewed. She looked down to Weedkit. "A badger is a dog-like creature. It is black with white stripes. Very powerful jaws and claws for digging. They are nocturnal, but keep a good distance away. One snap of those jaws is enough to kill a warrior." She didn't want to frighten Weedkit, so she added, "but at least there aren't very many, and they come out mostly at night."
