Splashkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ivystar leaped up to the Willow Branch, glancing down at the cloud of dust and sand that formed beneath her paws as she pushed off the ground. Another apprentice would be... good, she supposed. They needed all the paws they could muster to try and build up the fresh kill pile, but she knew the warriors had to be tired... Nevertheless, six moons had passed, and it was better done now than later. "All cats old enough to catch their own fish, gather beneath the Willow Branch for a Clan meeting!"

Splashkit tumbled out of the nursery the instant Ivystar's paws touched the willow branch, her mint green eyes shining with excitement. She'd been waiting for a meeting to be called ever since she'd turned six moons. 'Today might be the day!' The thought alone sent a shiver of anticipation down the tortoiseshell's spine. The lithe she-cat pushed her way to the front of the crowd and sat down, practically burning with curiosity.

Once Splashkit had rather unceremoniously made her way out of the nursery, Ivystar began the ceremony. "Splashkit, please step forward." Once the little she-cat had done so, Ivystar continued, "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onward until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Splashpaw. Your mentor will be Willowbreeze." Ivystar leaped off the branch after completing the ceremony, joining her Clanmates in celebration.

Wilowbreeze was stunned. Another apprentice!? She thought to herself.  She slowly padded up to the newly named apprentice and touched noses with her.  "Are you ready to learn to become a warrior?"
