Boulderpaw nodded at Ebonysong's advice, then pricked his ears at the sound of another set of footsteps. At Ebonysong's alert, Boulderpaw jumped and whipped around to face the snarling raccoon. Instinctively, Boulderpaw unsheathed his claws and barred his teeth at the predator as the hair on the back of his neck rose. Fear bubbled up inside of the apprentice's chest, but he fought it down. Good warriors aren't afraid of raccoons, he told himself. He had never fought anyone before, let alone a raccoon, though he did remember a few moves his mentor had taught him. Racking his memory, Boulderpaw bounded toward the raccoon, heart racing, and sliced at the creature with a front claw. His form was sloppy, partially due to his masked fear, but he still felt the blow land.

Rusty brown mud littered Emberpaw's pelt. He gave it a shake, sending little drops flying everywhere. His dark pelt blended in with the mud, though, so maybe it'd be easier to catch prey like this when he was the same color and scent as the ground. He sniffed the air, finding a frog jumping around near him. His amber eyes widened hopefully as he dropped onto the ground, slowly stalking forwards, until he prepared to jump. That is, until a bestial roar blasted through the air, followed by a voice he knew well: Ebonysong. Abandoning the frog, Emberpaw sprinted over to the source of the sound, finding Boulderpaw, Ebonysong, and an extremely hostile raccoon. Snarling, Emberpaw bounded in front of the two, trying to protect them. I'll take the blows for you, just get to safety! He didn't say it out loud, knowing that the two would want to fight - an admirable trait. Emberpaw ran at the raccoon while it was still distracted, knocking the striped figure back a few paces. He turned and scanned his two companions, who had no sings of visible wounds, even Boulderpaw, who had just sliced at the raccoon with a paw. "You two all good?"

The raccoon snarled and swiped at Boulderpaw angrily. As the apprentice fell, Ebonysong screeched in fury and used her hind legs to kick at the raccoon. “THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR PICKING ON AN APPRENTICE!” She yowled.

Raccoon used quick swipe on Boulderpaw, dealing 20 damage and costing 10 SP
Ebonysong used Back Kick dealing 10 damage and costing 15 Sp.

A mud-littered brown blur flashed in front of Boulderpaw's eyes, and before he knew it, the grey apprentice watched as the raccoon was knocked back a few steps. Boulderpaw gave a sigh of relief, and was about to murmur his thanks to the elder apprentice Emberpaw, when stars suddenly filled the tom's vision. Pain exploded through his head from the raccoon's swipe, then rippled into his body as he slammed onto the ground. The muddy, matted, large apprentice's body went limp as he fell into unconsciousness.
