Fighting is a very important skill [closed]

Robinloft let out a yawn, the crisp morning air sending a shiver under her pelt. As much as she hated mornings, she had started to get into the routine of waking up earlier to go on patrols. She couldn't ignore her duties, after all. But today she wasn't going on a patrol, today she was taking her apprentice out for another day of training. Frostpaw was a great apprentice, she was already ahead of most apprentices her age. A quick learner, she was. Just like her first time taking Frostpaw out, she went to the fresh-kill pile and selected a piece of prey for the young she-cat. She quietly walked to the apprentices den and found her way to Frostpaw's nest before carefully setting down the prey. "Hey, Frostpaw, time for training!" She whispered before giving her a small nudge. "I'll be waiting for you at the camp entrance, we'll be battle training today."

Frostpaw jolted up with a start a fresh prey-scent filled her nose. “For me? Thanks!” With that, she ate the mouse that Robinloft selected for her, swiping her tongue across her jaws to clean them. “So...what are we doing today? Hunting? Training? Sparring?” She asked curiously, her gaze wondering but hopeful. Anything that she did with Robinloft was fun. Frostpaw had a good mentor.

Robinloft smiled at her wide-eyed apprentice. She was glad that Frostpaw was so eager to learn, not all apprentices were as excited to get up this early. "Today, we will be doing battle training." She meowed, leading the way through the camp entrance. She led the way through the forest, choosing a path that she's walked down so many times that she knew every twist and turn by heart. She looked over her shoulder to make sure that Frostpaw was still following. She walked upon a small clearing, rich with the smell of prey. There was plenty of space to practice battle moves, and a few bushes to practice on.

Turning around, she faced Frostpaw with excited eyes. "This is where we'll practice. If you have any questions, be sure to ask me!" She stepped into the clearing, trying to decide what they should do first. 'I should probably practice with her a bit first and go over the moves she already knows...' She thought, leading Frostpaw to a shaded side of the clearing. Suddenly, she topped in her tracks. Her hair stood on end and her eyes narrowed. Something felt... not right. She looked around. It was as if there was a heavy presence lurking around the clearing, specifically the shaded side. "Frostpaw, get behind me" She ordered, proceeding toward the bushes. She scanned her eyes over the area, not finding anything. Then, almost right in front of her, an enormous Raccoon rose from the bushes with a mighty screech. "Frostpaw! Ready yourself! This will be your first fight!" She yowled, not bothering to look over her shoulder. Though fighting off a raccoon would be good battle practice for Frostpaw, Robinloft would always much rather have them train in a way they couldn't get hurt. They also had to fend off the raccoon though. Rearing up on her hind legs, she brought her claws down over the Raccoon's face with all of her weight. "That'll teach you!"
