Streampaw's Warrior Ceremony

StarClan's fury hadn't seemed to slow down any RiverClan apprentice, and Streampaw was certainly no exception. The she-cat had been training hard under Nightwolf's watch, a brave tom who had formerly been her own apprentice. She was proud of both of them, knowing full-well how capable they both were. After moons of training, Nightwolf had confirmed to Ivystar that Streampaw was ready- so here the tabby she-cat stood, looking down from the Willow Branch as her Clanmates went about their business. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Willow Brach for a Clan meeting!" Watching as cats began to assemble, emerald green eyes watched patiently, waiting for Streampaw to arrive.

Ashpaw peeked his head out of the apprentice's den at the sound of Ivystar's voice, not entirely surprised that it was for a clan meeting. He had been hearing many rumors lately that some of the older apprentices were close to earning their full names, was this it? Shaking some stray bits of moss from his long pelt, the youngest apprentice sat down among his clanmates, trying to find a good spot to get a clear view. Finally, once he was able to see his adoptive mother unobstructed, he relaxed, though his heart still beat with excitement. I wonder what their name will be...every name has a different meaning, it's so cool! I wonder what mine will be someday if I get there...

Streampaw padded out from the apprentice’s fern, excited. She would be a warrior today, and she couldn’t wait. Bouncing on her paws, she arrived near the Willow Branch and sat down, grinning up at the leader, Ivystar.

Fernpaw bounded out, she knew what was happening today and she wanted to support her friend!

Willowpaw walked out of her den to support Streampaw.  She was becoming a warrior!  Willowpaw couldn't wait till' she was one too.  She walked over and sat next to Ashpaw.

Once the Clan had gathered and Streampaw was below the branch, Ivystar nodded and began. "Today, we have gathered to witness yet another apprentice join the ranks of our warriors. Streampaw, Nightwolf has assured me that you have completed your training and are ready to receive your warrior name. If you believe this to be true, please step forward and your ceremony will commence." Looking down at the young she-cat, Ivystar patiently waited to see what she would do.

Streampaw nodded, and stepped forward. She had waited for this day since, well, forever, and now it was happening. She would become a warrior, right then. Her long tail flicked with anticipation, exposing her excitement.

ooc; streampaw shouldn't actually be on the branch, she should just step forward from where she was previously ;D

When Streampaw stepped forward, Ivystar continued. "Then I, Ivystar, Leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Streampaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" The sacred vows that every warrior took... They were precious, and no matter the obstacles that the Clans faced, tradition would always prevail.

Streampaw nodded determinedly. “I do.” Thoughts of excitement and nervousness whirled around in her head. She would be getting an apprentice soon! That was exciting and scary at the same time.

"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forth, you will be known to all as Streamtail. Tonight, as per tradition, you will hold a silent vigil while the rest of the clan sleeps. Until then, however, we celebrate the rise of a new Riverclan warrior who has fully earned her name." Leaping off of the branch, Ivystar approached the newly appointed warrior and rested her chin on the young she-cat's head, then stepped aside to let the rest of the Clan celebrate the newest addition.

"Streamtail! Streamtail!" The apprentice chanted.

"Streamtail!" Willowpaw called out her friend's new name, "Streamtail!  Streamtail!"

Applefang was delighted to see his friend become a warrior. ”Streamtail! Streamtail!” he chanted before giving the she-cat an affectionate nudge.

Nightwolf joined the cheering. "Streamtail! Streamtail!" Nightwolf couldn't believe his apprentice was a warrior already!

"Streamtail, Streamtail, Streamtail!" Beaming, Ashpaw called out his friend's name at the top of his voice before running up to greet her. The name was fitting; her pelt was the color of water which she moved so gracefully in, but it would always remind him of the day she and Willowpaw had taught him how to swim. Grinning, he butted her shoulder and purred. "Let's go fishing soon, the three of us again!"
