Say Little, Think Too Much (Open Patrol)

Never in her life would Egretstorm have ever fathomed RiverClan’s current state. The were barely a clan now. Was this StarClan’s punishment? Or a trial by fire? Grey paws crusted with mud found more solid ground. The warrior took a deep breath and sighed. Regardless if RiverClan had ten warriors or just one, her job would stay the same. She could only pray that RiverClan’s golden days were yet to come, and that her mother would be the one to make that prayer come true. It was clear that many of the other stars above glittered only to watch and judge. She flicked her tail. “C’mon, let’s bring something back before nightfall.”

Honeytongue bounded after Egretstorm, her eyes bright and full of energy despite RiverClan's state. She couldn't deny that it...Hurt, how empty the Clan felt. There were plenty of apprentices and kits but the warriors were lacking and it was a burden upon them all - many mouths to feed with what felt like not enough paws to feed them all. But she had wallowed in her misery long enough, she had to focus on the positive and the moments she had with her Clanmates...Not dreading the past and those she had lost. RiverClan was going to survive, she knew that much and she wanted to make the most of the time she had with her friends. "I'm ready to go whenever you are!" she purred to the warrior as she spoke up, certain that even if it ended up being just the two of them, they could bring back a fair share of prey between them.
