The warmth in her short gray fur, the bright light that was shining across Riverclan camp, the calm that was in the camp despite it being in the middle of the day, it was so wonderful for the deputy. Even if there was still the occasional cold breeze that swept through the camp the warmth of the sun managed chase away any chill that would have set in. Stormbringer laid in near the leader's den, absorbing as much warmth as she could before she would have to return to her duties. New leaf was setting in and it was so lovely to her.

The snow that had once blanketed RiverClan’s plains was gone. The bitter winds had just about vanished. Best of all, every time the sun came up, it stayed in place just a little bit longer. Snowpaw might’ve been named for leaf-bare, but like most of the forest, he preferred newleaf by far. He’d returned from a patrol, paws wet from the river, to see Stormbringer by Ivystar’s den. She looked like she was resting. As Snowpaw hadn’t yet discovered the wonders of napping in the sunlight, he didn’t think much of it. ”Stormbringer!” he meowed, marching across the camp to stand almost nose-to-nose with his mentor—after a quick detour to drop the lone fish he'd caught in the fresh-kill pile. ”How long is it before the flowers come back? I want to decorate my nest.” The pebbles he’d scattered across it now were fine, but if he was remembering flowers correctly, they were a lot more colorful.
