Protection (Open I think)

Spotlake laid in the nursery as she watched clan life go by. While most queens would be out of the nursery by now Spotlake was still in it as she was expecting yet another litter of kits. Spotlake searched around camp for one of her kits or Crowspirit. She wanted to know if everything was alright.

Petalpaw padded back in camp with a rabbit dangling by her jaws. She set the rabbit down in the kill pile and looked around. She noticed her mother and decided to head over since she hasn’t really spent time with her because of all the training. “Hi mom.” she mewed sitting down next to SpotLake.

Spotlake waved her tail in hello. "Hi Petalpaw. How's your training going?" Asked Spotlake as she licked her daugther on the forehead. "Are you being good your father?"

(Being good your father lol)

Petal nodded smiling at her mother. “And how are you doing?” she asked.

(Sorry it’s short I’m eating a donut aka typing one handed lol)

Spotlake smiled. "Oh well just over here waiting for my kits to be birthed thats all." Said Spotlake jokingly. She gave Petalpaw another lick. "Do you want something to eat cause I can get you some prey." Asked Spotlake ready to get onto her paws.

“you don’t need to do that! Let me get food for You!” She mewed at her mother. Petalpaw didn’t want her mom to move around when she was so close to kitting.

Spotlake moved her tail to get keep Petalpaw down. "I'm not that helpless. I'll be fine. I moved around all the time when I was expecting you and your sisters." Said Spotlake getting up onto her paws. "Plus aren't you tired from hunting?"

Petalpaw thought it over. “Fine, but if I see you struggle I’m coming over!” She mewed smiling. She started to lick her paw and groom her face.

Spotlake padded over to the freshkill pile and picked a rabbit. She padded back towards the nursery and set it down.

“Soon Maple and speckled will be apps.” she mewed taking a bite out of the prey. She knew her mom wanted more time with them all before they got too busy with other stuff.

Spotlake took a bite from the rabbit. "Yea but they'll be good apprentices. Just like you." Said Spotlake. She took another bite from the rabbit and wrapped her tail around her kit.

“Do you ever miss hunting or being outside the nursery?” She mewed curious.
