Rookkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Flintshard sat perched upon the Jaggedrock, lazily watching his Clanmates mill around their day. The nursery was getting full...And was emptying just as quickly. Plenty of new paws for them to deal with, both a blessing and a curse as it meant more chattering around the camp. At least with them becoming apprentices, it meant they wouldn't be trapped in the camp any longer... "ShadowClan! Gather beneath the shadow of the Jaggedrock," he finally called out, having already decided who the kit's mentor would be.

Rookkit pushed her way to the front of the gathering group, taking a seat just beneath the Jaggedrock. Hopefully it was her apprentice ceremony. For some stupid reason, her sister had been made apprentice before she had and she didn't like it. What did Tulipkit, no, Tulippaw have that she didn't? The black tabby raised her yellow gaze up to Flintshard, waiting for what he would say next.

Flintshard peered down at the young Rookkit as she settled in the front of the group. Ah, that would make things easier - she wouldn't have to wiggle her way past the gathered cats. "We are here to name yet another apprentice," he said, letting his gaze sweep over the cats before it returned to look at the kit. "Rookkit, please step forward." He waited a moment, letting her break away from the crowd before he continued on. "From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Rookpaw. Sparkfire shall be your mentor." He turned his attention to his sister, nodding his head toward her. It was about time that she finally got given an apprentice. She was skilled with hunting, he was sure that Rookpaw would be just fine under his sister's care.

The newly-named Rookpaw nodded at Flintshard's words, her chest puffing with pride. Finally it was her turn. Now her training could begin. She was going to prove to them all how strong she could be. She raised her head to look around for Sparkfire.

Sparkfire's head lifted up at the sound of her name being called. She looked up at Flintshard, her brother, then down to the newly-named Rookpaw, who stood before him at the base of Jaggedrock. She huffed softly as she rose up to a stand and padded towards the young molly.

"We shall begin training tomorrow at dawn," she meowed, touching her nose to her new apprentice's.
