Winter Flower [Closed]

It felt like a stone sank further in her chest at the look Honeytongue gave her. Her green eyes dull. How could she have not noticed everything that was bothering the warrior before? How could she not help her best friend before? What kind of friend was she? How could Honeytongue not hate her for not stepping up to help her before? They were supposed to help each other right? So why did it seem so one sided right now?

As soon as Honeytongue stepped forward, her face going into her neck. Stormbringer responded with a comfort of her own, trying her best communicate that it was okay. That it was going to be okay. The gray warrior's head resting gently on top of the others as best as she could manage.

Stormbringer stood there for a moment, processing everything that was said. It was hard for her to find the right words. Everything getting stuck before finally she stepped forward, pressing her side close to the other.

"It's alright.." She stated softly. "You don't have to pretend to be okay.. I'm not asking you too." She closed her eyes, trying to focus on the beautiful life giving warmth next to her despite all the things they have gone through. "Things are hard and will be for a while, and that's okay. I will be here and we can be not okay together, and we can find who we are supposed to be again together." She hoped those were the right words to say. She hoped this would help even if it was just a bit. They were best friends right? They were supposed to help each other, and this was the only way she knew how.

She opened her eyes, amber eyes looking at Honeytongue's face. "Just please don't hide away from me anymore.." She would take Honeytongue's burdens no matter what.

Honeytongue's ears perked slightly as Stormbringer spoke, gentle reassuring her that her feelings on the matter was fine, to take her time to get better. She...Hoped it was that easy, that time would ease the pain. ...All wounds did heal eventually, didn't they? Perhaps it would end with an ugly scar but... She nodded her head softly at Stormbringer's request that she wouldn't hide, nervously raising her eyes to meet her. "I-I...I'll do my best. Or...At least maybe alert you or Ivybrook if I plan to...Go out alone. Y-Your right, its dangerous. I could have been attacked and..." she sighed, before she paused as a thought crossed her mind. "Um...Do...Do you think that...Maybe we could share a nest for a while?" she asked, nervously shifting on her paws. "I...I don't think I want to wake up alone. Not now. Not after what happened with Mudfrost...And...And the comfort would be nice."

Amber eyes met green ones, as Stormbringer held her gaze. Relief was something she hadn't felt in a while but she was feeling it now that Honeytongue had agreed on letting her in. She was thankful for that. She didn't want to lose those she was close to. Honeytongue and Ivybrook being the only ones left it seemed. "Of course we can share a nest." The had done it before sometimes. At least in their apprentice days.

"We can head back now. We need to see someone about our wounds anyway." The gray warrior mentioned, nudging her friend to get her to move. "Once we have our wounds fixed we can merge our nests, and you can add whatever you like." Stormbringer liked to have some feathers in hers, it added a little extra warmth, but she wouldn't need it if Honeytongue was beside her. "Sound good?" She asked.

There was a flood of relief across the warrior's face as Stormbringer agreed, nodding her head hurriedly in agreement at it. This...This honestly meant a lot, something she could use to physically remind herself that Stormbringer wasn't going to betray her - she wasn't going to leave her. Sharing the nest, knowing that she would get to wake up next to her every morning. "Of course!" she meowed, before pausing as Stormbringer brought up getting their wounds looked at. It was as if the reminder of that allowed her mind to actually process the pain, flinching slightly as she glanced at her injured shoulder. Right... "Y-Yeah, that sounds good," she mused, turning to start padding next to the camp. It was going to be interesting trying to free the flowers she had stuffed in her nest...But they were starting to wilt. Perhaps it would just be best to throw those out and not clutter up their nest...It was a shame that she wouldn't be able to gather more until Leaf-bare had past but at least she had the comfort of sleeping next to Stormbringer to ease that pain.
