Life Itself (OPEN)

Briarpaw watched as the older warriors argued and discussed what was to be done about the foxes. He didn't say anything, partially because he forgot that he actually had something to contribute to the discussion. Finally, he spoke up. “I’ll stay here to help guard the queens and kits,” he said. "In case some of the predators decide to sneak here when your attacking them, hoping to find our young unprotected."

Foxspirit listened from inside the nursery, and wrapped her tail around her two remaining kits. Spotpaw had been apprentice not long ago, and she new that soon her other kits would be as well. The fact that the foxes new where they lived scared her. My kits wont be safe untill their gone... she thought. Foxspirit almost decided to volunteer, but one look at her small, defenseless children, and her sick mate drove that thought far away. She would not leave them.
