Foxkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Mistyrain leaped up to the Tallbranch, scrabbling up the last little way. She settled on the familiar curve of the branch, surveying the camp before calling out. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!" This was her favorite duty. Today, Foxkit would receive his apprentice name and it would be something for the Clan to celebrate.

It was time! Foxkit could barely hold his excitement as he came practically bounding out of the nursery, his yellow eyes gleaming as he caught the sight of Mistyrain standing proudly on the Tallbranch. He was going to be an apprentice! The idea of leaving the camp and seeing the woods that they called home had been a dream of his for so long and in a matter of moments, it would be a reality he could partake in! As he came to a stop, his eyes quickly flickered around the gathering cats, wondering who would be his mentor.

Catching sight of Foxkit's russet-colored pelt, Mistyrain picked up the ceremony where she had left off. "Foxkit, please step forward." He did so, and she continued. "Foxkit, you have reached the age of 6 moons and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Foxpaw. Spottedleap will be your mentor, and I trust him to mentor you well and teach you to the best of his abilities." Descending from the Tallbranch, she began to call out Foxpaw's new name along with her Clanmates to congratulate him.
